But at that point who cares? 😅 So bottom line......if it blows the seal out....GOOD....cuz the seal is gonna have to come out anyway. The same pressure made to keep dozer track adjusters tight will blow the seal on that driveshaft if there is any restriction. Not fake news, just highly unlikely. If the people who hold the patent say to use a low pressure grease gun I am probably gonna use a low pressure grease gun. BilletHead and snagged in outlet 3 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Riiiiight. And if there's a restriction.....then the seal needs to be removed anyway. My point is that there's no reason to go out and buy a special "low pressure grease gun" to service your jet pump. Grease guns are messy as hell, who wants to babysit more of them than they need to ? 😅
gotmuddy Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 I always keep one in a ammo can in the boat along with a big screwdriver and extra drain plug everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Not sure why Mercury touts the 24C for everything. You can wipe that stuff right off your hands with a paper towel and then grab your sandwich. I always kinda figured the harder it is to clean up....the better it is for a Marine application. For what it's worth, I've never seen a driveshaft bearing failure on a jet pump. I'm sure it can happen, but I've never had to swap one. And my main parts supplier has had the same 3 in stock for 14 years 😅 Been using this grease here on the farm for everything from bearings to wear points on farm equipment. It’s doesn’t mix with water like some cheaper greases so I really love it on wheel bearings. Haven’t used it in my jet pump yet but I’m out of the marine grease as of last time I greased it. Think this would be fine on a jet pump to? There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
