netboy Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 The SWPA schedule showed minimum flow starting around 9am and ending at 2pm for today. Well they lied again. I got to the dam around 9:00 and they had 2 units going. So as a plan B, I drove to another access that has wadeable water in these conditions. It was wadeable but still kind of high. There were some caddis hatching but not a lot of trout eating them. I caught 9 rainbows and all were good size which is typical of the C&R area. I caught this one an Elkhair and she put up quite a fight. Probably took a good 5 minutes and she took me into the backing twice and made some great jumps. Then about 11:00 they opened another unit (guess what...no horn) so I made it to the bank and left. All and all a good morning but too short. Terrierman, patfish, laker67 and 5 others 8
snagged in outlet 3 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 That’s a nice one👍 They were lying in the 70’s, 80,’s, 90’s, 00’s and 10’s too. And no app back then.
MOPanfisher Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 It's just an scheduled of expected generation. A need arises for electricity and they kick.some on, may have been a coal plan had to perform some maintenance, maybe no wind for the wind farms, maybe hot an everyone kicked on AC since they is stuck at home. The no horn is more concerning though. Send them an email might be something broke and they don't know.

MOPanfisher Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Hmm, I have been there when they started generating back in early 90s and there was always a horn, but don't know about just increasing. Truman blows horn for increases, I have been there with just enough flow and then waaaaahhh, here comes another unit in line. Honestly I don't understand how it works. Used to be an automatic thing when a unit came on line it triggered the horn. Who knows.
