Out here in Montana now, but couldn't seem to tag any real big ones this year in Missouri. The Yellowstone isn't an easy river to find a big trout, but I found one today...a hidden pile of rocks that used to be a rip rap point before the river ate its way around it and left it in the middle of the channel, right below a fast riffle. The river is just now low enough to really see this rockpile, and I doubt if many people fish it because they are mostly too busy running the riffle and it sneaks up on them. But Mary was practicing her rowing, and leaving me to drift a big fat hopper imitation right over that rockpile, where a brown trout as big around as my leg came up and took it...and didn't get hooked. It's less than a mile below the house, so I plan on trying that fish again soon. Ain't it fun talking about big fish? Expand Al these are my only extreme examples and you are ever so correct on the mass size of these river run Ozark bass. This year has been extremely weird for obvious reasons. I made a vow to not post pics on social media anymore, do I consider this site social media??? Kinda but, not really. The fishing pressure I have seen this year has been a detriment at best. I have caught a handful of 18 + smallies and not many 19’s and NONE that legitimately measured 20 inches, which normally would alarm me but, my fishing has been limited to when I can sneak away for a few hours in between Zoom classes for dance, violin and now school. We have been doing our part in staying away from everyone as we live in St Louis County. I hope you and Mary have been doing well Al and staying healthy. At first I was very mad at all this and now I just want to move forward and get thru it and get back to seeing my friends. I really miss my buddies like Aaron and Paul and other fishing brothers..... talking on the phone is just not enough, have to be able to hug them and tell a joke in each other’s face and laugh and see my friends smile. It will happen..... just rough right now. I hope all you guys have been safe I truly do. I am gonna do some cool Trips coming up but, man do I miss fishing with friends top_dollar 1
