darbwa
How is the river camping on the Gasconade? My google earth scanning tells me that good gravel bars are not abundant like they are on the Current or the Buffalo. I am looking at the upper stretches in particular. Flysmallie
Yeah they aren't as abundant but when you find one it won't be occupied. darbwa
darbwa
Fishing and solitude are priorities for me so I have been looking upstream and we plan to float Wednesday through Friday. It looks like Adams Ford is the farthest upstream I can get an outfitter to put me on the water for the 3-day float. Is that a good option? Is there a better option? fishinwrench
I love the Competition to Falcon stretch. I especially love it during bullfrog season. 😉

I am not sure where an access point is near competition (I have never been on the Gasconade) but it looks to be somewhere near the 32 mile mark while Gasconade Hills appears to be on mile 71. GH offered to put us in at Adams Ford. I am wondering if anyone else might put us on farther up or if we should be satisfied with that as our starting point. fishinwrench
Somebody used to put people in at Mayfield spring/cave. I think it was the place by the bridge at Falcon. I'm sure they'd go another couple miles and dump you in at the bridge at Competition.
