Members worstfishermanalive Posted June 13, 2020 Members Posted June 13, 2020 So I live in El Dorado and have fished everywhere I could think of including but not limited to: Moro Bay, Felsenthal, White Oak and Tricounty Lake. I have used pack baits, bread and sweet corn all using hair rigs. my current setup is 12 pound line>.5 oz egg sinker>helicopter>swivel>8 in braided line>#6 hook with hair rig. I just got done with white looking for grass carp, chummed the heck out of it and not even a nibble. That is what's really freaking me out is no fish has shown interest in my line. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, it's getting to the point I'm thinking carp are all part of my imagination or maybe a persistent hallucination. I've gone for common, hybrid and grassers where ever they say they are I go and can't find them. If I ask people just tell me to get a boat but I can't afford one nor really want one. Do you guys have any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong or where I could go to catch them? My sanity is starting to erode I've been trying for a few months now just fishing on the weekends and nothing not even nibbles. Thanks for your help!

Members worstfishermanalive Posted June 13, 2020 Author Members Posted June 13, 2020 I did actually, more of what I’m trying to find are specific locations where I can bank fish for carp. I’ve just had a hard time locating carp out here probably because all of the rivers are high. Also I apologize for the multiple posts, not sure what happened but probably in my excitement to get input did something weird so I flagged them in hopes of getting the deleted.
MOPanfisher Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Any f the big 3 COE lakes have plenty of carp. Find a spot with easy access and give it a try. We used to bait an area with shelled corn and the go back with canned corn, love catching them, even been known to eat a few. Grassy/dirt banks seem to be better than gravel. Members worstfishermanalive Posted June 14, 2020 Author Members Posted June 14, 2020 I'll do that Lake Degray and Millwood are about two hours away each so I'll try them next, thank you!
Terrierman Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Get some shelled corn and a gunny sack. Put ten pounds of corn in the sack and a brick to sink it and tie it shut. Chuck it out 20 or 30 feet from shore with a rope to retrieve. Let it sit about three days and give that area a try. I bet your luck changes. Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Look for a good stagnant mud hole lake. That’s what works around here. We chum with canned corn in the morning and come back in the evening to fish. I like evenings for carp.
