Killin ya isn't it!!!😂

Well, everybody was throwing buzzbaits and topwater stuff that day.  Obviously it made a difference.

A buddy and I have been debating light quiet buzzbaits vs. heavy noisy ones for quite awhile.   Ya know, when to throw which....and whether or not it matters?

I'm all about the noisy squeaking bangers if I'm going to throw a buzzbait.  If they want something more subtle I'll offer them a frog or a spook.   It's hard to tell who's right and who's wrong.

I went on a late season guide trip at LOZ one year.  Company paid.😁   I had been whacking them on a pop R for about two weeks around here and still had it tied on.  He threw the buzzer right up until my 3rd or 4th hookup in a row.  And that was fishing BEHIND him.  He threw first at every piece of cover we came to.  That was the first time I was ever on a guide trip where the guide fished.  I even asked him to lay off a bit since I was the "customer".  He did not like that....

That wasn't a "guide", that was a fisherman that somebody hooked up with a guide trip.

A guide will fish just enough to give you confidence that there are fish there, and a brief tutorial on how he catches them.   Then he should put down his rod and keep you in a good position to rape the hole.

Of course you knew all that, so I'm preaching to the choir. 😅

Yep, there was a big group of us.  To his credit we landed right on them though.  I had fun.  One of the better bass fishing trips I've had.  Best top water action I've ever witnessed was on LOZ with a lure called a Spittin Image in October  They were times that thing got knocked 3' out of the water.

I’ll tell you the buzzbait that works best!!! The one you have the most confidence in!!!

Everybody seems to love throwing a buzz bait and/or a whopper plopper, but I could probably count on one hand how many fish I’ve caught on wither of those. I want to like the, I really do. And I throw them enough that I should be getting bit more I’d think. I just don’t have much success with them. Give me a spinnerbait or a frog/spook/popper/devils horse.
