Just a quick question to yall who use it?  I have 2-helix 10's DI at the bow, SI at the console.  I use the stand by mode some times, but does it really save power, mostly the console?  Just one of those random thoughts I have from time to time.  Thanks for the info that everyone put out on this site and the help.

The Lowrance units kill the power.  I wondered the same thing so I put a voltmeter on the battery to see if the voltage draw stopped when I hit standby.....it does.    Shuts down but saves all the settings.

I never do that.  What is the reasoning for putting a unit on standby.

So that you can pop it back on and all of your modes and settings will be saved.

I was thinking the thread was about putting Hummingbird feeders away for the winter instead of a Humminbird fish finder queston.

I don’t quite understand.  How would you lose modes and settings.   I leave mine on all day long.

I think it's more that is saves the mode that you were on, and you have to hold the power button on a Bird for like 3 seconds before it will shut down, and it takes a while to boot back up. It can take a couple minutes for it to connect to GPS too.

I would use it, as I get some interference when both the bow and console units are on at the same time, but I don't think my older Helix has it.

Ok I wasn’t thinking about what screen configuration it might be set on.  I haven’t seen any cross talk on my Solix units so I just leave them on.
