I don't think I'd ever even HEARD of one before John posted a picture and mentioned it to me. Really cool fish! Hard to find, though.... fished the area hard and only caught one. Made it all the more exciting to catch! Ever struggled to catch a certain fish species, but once you finally catch one, suddenly you are able to catch more? The very next day, at a very different place, I caught another one! Nice respotted sunnies 😁 Glad you found my info useful and caught that first one. Your struggle question happens to me all the time. For example the first time I was fishing one of the large ponds in Mingo it took me 40 to 45 mins to hook and land my first ever starhead topminnow even with a tanago hook 🙄. Most of that time was figuring out that they were different and then not spooking them and then get them to bite. Next trip was easy peasy as our buddy @Ham would say. No problem catching as many as I would want. How many did he catch yesterday? FishnDave 1

I probably would not have recognized these for what they were, but Ham showed me what to look for....and showed me exactly where to try for them. Boom! Congrats on your bantam(s)! I still have to catch one. Made two trips to Mingo in 2019 and only saw some possible small ones and one adult that was dying with a fungal infection that looked like a hand print 🙄. FishnDave 1

I had to ditch the yellow rain gear to get anywhere close to them AND you have to move the bait away from them. If the bait moves towards them, they bolt. When I am at Mingo/Duck, I feel like a P51 Pilot. I spent all my time getting to the target rich environment, and now I have no time to enjoy it. I really did try to manage time and Give FND Bowfun chances. We went down swinging. I turned down beating on Starhead, Dollars, and Warmouth because I wanted to try more areas for Swamp Musky and OSSF. I guess I am headed to Iowa and Kansas this year Johnsfolly and FishnDave 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
