Walleye Spawn has started

I finally figured this walleye thing out.  Water is 48 degrees and the boys are stacked on the spawning riffles.  Big girls are in deep hole below.   I kept a couple nice eaters out of the boys that fell for my cricket.

Same is true in the White above TR and above Beaver.

The old timers I knew who fished Black and Current rivers always knew the walleye would vacate their wintering pools around the 15th-20th of February and head for spawning riffles.  They thought spawning was in full swing by the first of March.

“Jack Salmon “ those river strain fish got huge....I hope more is done with those, back when both strains were in Stockton those seemed to spawn at least a month earlier
