Gumboot Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 I don't have the link from the govt, but apparently on May 19 blue green algae detected along face of dam and in the cove where The Harbor restaurant is.
Ranger520vx Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 It’s all over the lake seen it every place I was this morning. I’m blaming it for the fishing being so bad lol.

I doubt that the majority of what you are seeing is Blue Green Algae. There is a ton of Algae around, but the BG stuff has been limited to a few locations at his point. If you think it is blue green algae report the location and it can be checked. If yiu want to do a simple test on your own you can do a simple jar test.
Gumboot Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 Mopan, what's the jar test? I haven't seen any in my cove, but have dogs running around and if there's something bad to get into...they'll find it.

MOPanfisher Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 It is th quickest and easiest way to determine if blue green algae is present in noticeable amounts. More than that and you have to send samples off to identify which cyanobacteria it is and how much toxic it is. As to how dangerous it is to pets well it depends. . . What cyanobacteria it is, how much there is oreaent, how much a dog ingests, how large the dog is, and how succeptible the dog is. People can take a look and say, hmmm, that don't look good and stay out, a dog will jump right into the middle of it. Sadly there is no treatment that is feasible for it, just have to let it burn out.
oneshot Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 It was on the News and a guy said he wasn’t having any problems with it. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the Geese. Either way it’s a mind thing. oneshot
