So how do you guys use it?  Do you have it on the trolling motor or on a separate mount?

Do you deploy it and cruise around looking or use it while fishing in general?

How deep does it work?

I rigged one up on a pole from fishing specialties   It’s important when using spotlock to have it.  There are also times I miss it being on my trolling moter when searching around.  IM looking at a polE from all aboard marine they attaches to your trolling moter and has a chain drive that syncs with the moter.  When you find something you wanna spot lock on you can pop a pin out and attach a pole and use it separate froM the trolling moter.

There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

The guys at Marine Repair say the ducer weighs 8# and MK says that’s too heavy for the Ulterra to continually lift.  I have a 360 with a Cornfield Crappie mount on it now and I am seeing some issues so it’s coming off when the Shuttle Slide gets mounted next week.

8 pounds? Surely that can't be right. The Mega live transducer looks about the same size as Garmin's.

I’ve never seen one.  All I have to go by is what I was told.  I’ll know more about it later.

They have some pictures here.

My buddy has had it rigged on a pole and on his Ultrex. He didn't like the pole because it was too much fiddling, but keeping the TM aimed is a fight too. Just depends on how you like to fish.

I think I would like it best on a pole that is attached to the TM, so they stow and deploy together, but the transducer is aimed independently.

The only way I see a pole helping is if you are crappie fishing or like to spot lock a lot. It’s already hard to keep the trolling motor aimed perfect to see your bait the hole time. I could imagine trying to run the troller and the other pole at the same time.

I have mine on a separate poll. I didn't like having it on the TM. For me. I find having it on a separate poll because what the the boat is doing in most cases doesn't matter. As long as I can follow the fish with the pole and cast accordingly. It's a lot easier for me personally  to track them on a free pole as to try and track them with TM. Just whatever works best for someone.

Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???B)
