tjm
Is this a "bring your own fish" event? It may be that I just don't know how to fish that stream, but, the several times I've been there this year and last, I found no trout (I did hook some small native fish) and the last two times the entrance to the lower bridge parking lot was impassable. That was a favorite place for me back when it still farmed. trythisonemv
ollie
Oh, I guess I will show up for the shindig again! 😄 I mean I am kind of supposed to be there for some reason or another. Start at nine like always, but this time let's meet in the lower parking lot. We can decide from there where we want to split up and go. I drove over the creek yesterday and it is low and clear. Tjm, that is why hardly anyone else fishes Capps! Unless of course there is a fresh stocking and then all the locals show up for a fish fry! lol trythisonemv, tjm, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 4 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek! tjm
It's hard to catch trout that are already eaten, and there ain't much shoulder to park on. I was also told that MDC only stocks at the bridges? no more stocking at the middle? in the Park? I think the fish last longer in Hickory Creek during the kill 'em all season. ollie
True that they only stock at the bridges anymore and that is it. The middle got washed away from a flood a few years back and they never went in and fixed it. You just go ahead and stick to fishing Hickory then and that will leave the rest for us to catch! lol Daryk Campbell Sr, trythisonemv and Johnsfolly 2 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek! Johnsfolly
Any of you Capp's guys know if this spot is still there? Caught this brown between those trees going on seven years ago. Daryk Campbell Sr and trythisonemv
ollie
Yes, but that tree has since been long gone! That and the hole has since filled in almost all the way.
