Alex Heitman Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Plan on going with my dad tomorrow to fish for bass and bringing crappie stuff in case they don’t cooperate. We went to Mccubbins about a month ago and did not do very well besides a big one that got off at the boat. Thinking about trying mccubbins again or going to Coffman or Larry gale. Can someone rule out at least a section that is not fishing well as others
Bushbeater Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Upstream from Larry Gale is not fishing well for me. If you put in there head down. From what I hear it's deep brush piles. Alex Heitman 1
fishinwrench Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 The lower lake area is fishing really well now. 10mm to the dam. There's an A-rig bite going on if you're into that. And an overabundance of 9-10" crappie suspended under docks. The upper Gravois is rather blah. Nothing but dinks as far as I can tell. I have no helpful info on the rest of the lake. crittermo and Alex Heitman 1 1
Alex Heitman Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 Thanks fellas. Is falcon off W the only place to put in close to the dam?
Dewayne French Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Is that the one down close to the dam in the back of the pocket. If so I know it is really difficult to unload at when they draw the lake down for winter, but I don't know if they have done that yet.
Seth Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 No clue on the bass fishing, but we had our limits of crappie within a mile of the PB2 ramp in less than two hours yesterday. If you have side imaging you shouldn't have any problem finding them and wacking them. We caught them in 2-30' of water casting, corking, shooting docks and dipping. It really didn't matter. fishinwrench 1
Alex Heitman Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 Well we put in at Mccubbins and did not do well. Tried buzzbait in the back with cranks and spinnerbait. Nada. Caught only one keeper bass all day on jig with lots of dinks. For some reason we could not locate the crappie. Found a few large schools but they were tight lipped. I usually fish up by the dam so I don’t have all the brush piles found down that way. Talked to guy at rank and he said the crappie shut down for them after 10 AM. Great day to be out though grizwilson and fishinwrench 2
