All of the guys that fish this little circuit are wicked good fishermen and truly professional level, but none of them win or even get paid, consistently.  It's always a crapshoot as to whose day it's going to be.

Several of them are full time truly professional anglers, and they are making a comfortable living at it.

There's more to being a professional angler than catching fish. Especially these days with social media, technique specific tackle, and high-tech electronic gear.    Never before have you been able to easily reach out and get truly knowledgeable one-on-one assistance with every single product sold to fishermen.

I can have a bonafide representative of just about ANYTHING standing in my shop, giving guidance, within 24 hours.....with nothing more than a quick text message.

Gotta admit..... that's pretty freakin' COOL !

This is definitely the information age and yes it's awesome.  Social media seems to be another income source for them that's for sure.  Otherwise they wouldn't do it.  I thought those guys were like the Wednesday night guys.  Full time job and fish as a hobby and tell people they are "professional".  If you are paying the bills and making a profit from fishing then you are a pro.

Having the events on a Tuesday during the day......kinda weeds out the factory workers.  😉

I need a free Simms down vest.  Ask the Simms rep for me please...😁  I left mine at a boat ramp.

Thanks for the info on patterns, sizes and colors.

I did some online searches as well...and came up with even more.  It's kinda strange to see other colors creeping in. For instance, purple seems to be a strong color in Wisconin, especially on Winnebago. Trolling through those sites kinda makes me think-- "pulling" or "pumping" is a technique that is interesting.  The flies are fished on a three-way rig with a heavy dropper and sinker and a spinning rod.  That might be worth playing with in the lower end of Truman, but it won't see use in Cole Camp Creek arm-- which is where I do a lot of fishing.
