Got a text from my nephew Devin recently. I used to fish with him when he was just a little guy, and we did many family trips to Roaring River as he was growing up. Unfortunately he lives in FL now, and I haven't seen him in a few years. But he did send me this picture:

Anybody wanna guess at a weight? He didn't have scale.

Those Florida bass can get huge.   This one must be pretty small, I cannot even see it.

There it is! Thanks. He looks happy. I'm thinking 5.2 pounds.

I can only judge a fish in a photo if they have been long-armed, 😄 but I'll go 6 lbs.

We had a guy in our fraternity that had an issue with his humerus that left his right arm probably about 2 to 3 inches shorter than his left. You really could tell when he had both elbows on the table and his head on his hands. Since his forearms were the same length his right shoulder would noticeably dip. Just thinking now that he would be a terrible fisherman if he always held his fish for photos with his right hand 😅
