Fished with a buddy of mine that I haven't fished with for a while, it was fun to catch up on life while fishing.

Got to the ramp a bit before 7 and it was still dark, we took our time getting in the water, buzzed over to a gravel point and worked a jerk bait.  I had the right one, caught 4 smallies on 4 casts.  No big ones, but a couple were over the 15" mark.  I was hoping there might be a walleye there, but none there or anywhere else that we could catch.

We worked the trees back in Indian creek for a bass here and there, then came back out and went into one of the coves in the main basin.  Pulled up on one bank and we could see dark shadows in the water which were some shad schools that were up close to the bank.  We caught several bass around them on Ned rigs, couple of them were decent 2.5 lb. largemouth.  You would think those fish would've eaten a small swim bait or a jerk bait, but they only wanted that Ned.

We left about 1:30 with a couple dozen bass caught, maybe a half dozen were keepers.

WT 47-49.

Glad you got out with a friend today, Jeff!   Sometimes it isn't all about the catching.
