That's the way I do it.  Gardening done right is a lot of work.  Going to the farmer's market is a lot of fun.  Plus there's a lot more variety there than I ever want to deal with growing on my own.

Mennonites have an Auction once a week. People come in with Big Trucks buy a bunch take it to Springfield sell it as Organic Amish Grown.

I have an adopted Uncle in Joplin that has a small hobby farm there since retirement.  He grows tomatoes, paw paws, select black berries, gooseberries, and other various things.  He is very selective on his varieties and will go and meet with researchers that are developing new strains.  And he brings his stuff along on fishing trips.

But he mops up at farmers markets.
