Members Brian D Posted August 14, 2022 Members Posted August 14, 2022 Top water bite was pretty decent. On the water at 6:10 and 1st one in the boat at 6:18. WT 84.4. Last one in the boat was at 10:30. We caught 13 and had a couple pull off. Bone color worked the best. 7 keepers total. Targeted banks with deep water real close. If the bank was a gentle slope then no takers. Gravel mixed with big chunk rock or under water ledges. Mostly anything with shade once the sun got up. Main lake was not productive for us at all. Fished from State Park Marina to Clevinger Cove. dan hufferd, gurzik, grizwilson and 2 others 5
Quillback Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 That's great - I haven't been able to find any top water action at all the last few times out. Sure is fun when it happens. Brian D 1
rps Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 This time of year, my best pattern was late in the day shaded deep water edges (outside bends) working WTD baits within 6 feet of the bank. I always assumed the fish had risen from deeper water for the evening feed. As usual, the best areas were where some change occurred. A cut, a rock fall, or a fallen tree are examples. m&m and Brian D 2
