Gave same spot as opening day a rest yesterday. Back at it this morning. I shot better but Pat struggled. My limit was had with 28 shots. 1.86666666666 shells per bird. I've done better before but was happy. Pat shot four but won't let me share her average. We got hom and cleaned birds then Pat did biscuits and gravy. What a morning!IMG_20220903_094849459_HDR.jpg

We’ve been a couple three times this weekend..did better in Lawrence county than bates county.

i didn’t shoot very good...I took the red label...the birds that came into the mojo I did fairly well on...but it’s not very good at the passing shots...or most likely I was behind them...seems to be my MO.  Jake shot pretty good and got the lion share. Wife’s dad went once but he doesn’t shoot much...says he can’t see em very good or quick enough...he’s 78.  Wife’s uncle went with Jake opening day...he’s 91

we ended up with way more than we needed...but it’s always good to hear your gun go bang.

We got another dozen between us this morning. The birds are changing the flight pattern coming into field. With Pat going back to work I will try to go back Wednesday morning and change places in the field.

Yep! Still have birds, lots of birds but getting spooky. Corn is being shelled now too and other fields should be getting birds working.

I’m probably done.  I gave Jake 4 boxes of shells to take back to school..so he can go some thru the week.

He’ll probably go teal hunting this weekend with a buddy but I’m probably just gonna gear up and practice a little for bow season.

it’s a great time of year...season change
