Try hitting a bat, that is a dodgy creature.

I caught one in mid air on a mohair leech once.   Hooked right in the mouth too.

When we were kids we would stand under the street lights, toss pebbles into the air to watch the bats chase it to the ground.    Fun times 😅.   It's too bad that kids can't be entertained so easily nowadays.

Had a bat eat a dry fly once. Late Labor Day hex spinner fall on the Suageen R. near Walkerton, Ontario. Ken Collins of Troutfitters was our guide that day, So he got the pleasure of releasing it. Had an owl crush a jitterbug once and get hooked. Maybe 2am on the Jacks Fork. Think it lived, but it pooped all over my shirt that took off to restrain it, release it.  Not a pleasant experience.

Oh dude !     😂

I had a gull swoop down and grab a Pop-R in the backend of Mill cr.   It was hooked in the shoulder and would have survived if it would have just CALMED DOWN!   Jesus!  All of that screaming, biting and clawing was totally unnecessary.

I ran out of patience after about 10 minutes, and stomped that SOB into a bloody pile of guts and feathers on the front deck of my boat.    🤷

Or those swift things that like to nest under porch eaves.  Tough but doable.

Hooked a barn swallow by the big stone bridge at Bennett Springs while fly fishing.  I hit it mid-air with my cast and it crashed into the water.  I pulled it in, unhooked the fly from it's wing, and off it went.
