Whole House Water Filter?

We can't have a Softener because of the salt.

Wanting just a Whole House Filter to hook up just as it comes into the house. 

Plus I thought water come from our house to the Apartment but it don't it comes from the Meter.

Open for ideas. I found one system for $1,600 my wife thought this was high but in the long run I know it will pay for itself.

That seems reasonable to me.  The one we put on the well at the farm was a lot more than that and the filters cost $200 per year.

See we're on County Water. It comes in a closet in the Bedroom. Just hook it up there.

I have a filter canister, and then some kind of infrared thing that water passes through before it even goes through the softener.    None of it was overly expensive to buy and have installed.  And the filters are reasonable.   After an entire year the filters wouldn't even look dirty...... but I replace them every 4-6 months regardless.

A closet would not hold all of the different tanks involved with our system.  You better get more info from wrench.

Whole home water filtration systems and water softeners serve seperate purposes. One purifies the water and the other softens it. They can run in conjunction to one another for the best of both worlds. Are you just wanting cleaner tasting water or are you actually wanting softer water?

I'd have to go under the house and take pics.   I was perfectly happy with the water straight out of the well..... but the WOMEN IN THE HOUSE demanded softer water...... and they ALWAYS get what they want. 🙄

Just cleaner.

I know I can get a Softener that don't use Salt but don't want to fool with it. I can't have Salt.

Right now have my Hot Water Heater in there.
