I poured through my old journals and found my best Pomme limit..... 17.11 in late March 2004.  The water level was 4' high, and fish were relating to the old shoreline edge in 4-6'.

Most came on a 5/16oz. hula grub just outside the takeoff cove.  The 2 best fish came on a 3/4 thumper spinnerbait along a flooded fencerow in Decker br.    52° water.  Only culled twice.

Other "decent" Pomme days from 2001-2008 (where I actually left with a check) were in the 14-15lb. range.

My best tournament weight was last April. I weighed in just a little over 19 lbs. with 2 over 5. Afternoon jerk bait bite saved me only had 2 keepers at noon. My best day not tournament was about 4 years ago had right at 22 lbs 7 pounder on jerk bait and the rest on square bill. This lake can fish good when you figure them out.

The fish in my profile was just shy of 10 pounds caught on Pomme 4 years ago April on a wart within eye sight of Bolivar Landing. My buddy caught a 7.9 that same day around Coopers Cove. I have caught lots of 5’s over the past 20 years, and a few 6 and 7’s. All on the Pomme side. It is a crank bait jem when it’s right.

I've never stayed close and fished it 2-3 days consecutively.  .

If I had 3-5 days to play with I bet I could unlock a solid pattern or two.

I could use a few lodging suggestions for the area......Go!      It's just far enough away that I don't wanna have to drive from home every day.

Lots of good crankbait water in that area.

I would definitely recommend Stillwater resort I know the previous and current owners all great people and a super nice place. Same goes for me Wrench if you are over this way for a few days let me know too would be great to get together with you guys.

Also a lot of tournament guys stay at the Pelican motel in Galmey. If you don’t care about a full blown resort cabin and don’t mind loading your boat every night that wouldn’t be a good place to stay.

Hidey ho fellas, To answer 1 of the questions yes Bill Davenport was a hammer back then and Greg Poindexter. They were about the only 2 guys that fished structure back then. But now with all the electronics everyone does it. My best limit weight on Pomme in a tournament was 27lbs 4oz caught them all on a buzzbait April 7 can’t remember the year but it was in late 90’s early 2000
