Hard to explain how today went.  I left Aurora this morning and decided to go north because the wind was not blowing at all.  I got up to Stockton and the wind was crazy but after a 45 min drive, I put in at Ruark at 915.  I was withing 5-10 min of the ramp the whole 4 hours I was out.  I fished from 0915-1230 with 0 fish to show for it.  Fished 3 different areas that had fish on brush in deeper water, but I just could not get them to bite.  I was headed to go see Ketchup before I headed home to get to work and decided to pull into one of my better April and May spots just to kind of see what was happening.  Needless to say, I found them.  I called Ketchup over so he could get on them also to No avail, but gents let me tell you.  I could not get them in the boat fast enough and if I had 2 people in my boat, we could have both had a limit in the same amount of time.  By the time I got 1 in the LiveWell and back up front I could do it again with in 2 cast.  It was one of my best days I have had in a couple of years.  Small, chartreuse 3/32 jig head with a baby bobby garland (Bubble Belly) in green and pink, (watermelon). I had the boat loaded and, on the way, home by 1330.  It took less than 30 min to fill my limit.  I'd like to say I was exaggerating but it was better for me today than most days in the spring. They were a lot shallower than I excepted.  1/2 male and females.  This was only my 2nd trip this year and won't get back up for a bit I'd say so these will last me a couple weeks at home since I'm the only one that eats them.  Good Luck to everyone in the coming cold week.
