Got to the ramp just as it was getting light.  Saw some fish coming up on top chasing shad, that were a long cast off the bank.  Grabbed a rod off the deck, walked down to the bank, cast the Keitech at them and got an immediate bite.  Turned out to be white bass, caught 3 on 3 casts then they moved away.

Got the boat in the water, dropped the TM and fished the area around the dock, caught some smallmouth, one on top, a small striper and a keeper walleye.  Once the sun cleared the trees that bite ended, but it was fun for a bit.

fished some of the banks around the main basin and a few places back in Indian Creek, caught a fish here and there, mostly smallmouth.  Also caught another keeper walleye.

Only a few bites near the bank, most of my bites were in 20 feet of water.  Looked around a bit for some beds, did not see any.

Keitechs were my best bait, with a couple on the Ned.

Sounds like a good trip.  Sorry I couldn’t make it.

The walleye in the picture may very well have been a sauger. Sauger have a minimal to nonexistent white tail tip, the dirty splotches as seen in the picture, and dirty and uneven dark freckles in the dorsal fin.  The picture does not show the fin extended with light behind it, so I can't voice an opinion. Sauger were native to the White long before the dam.

Of course, they eat just as well.

Congrats Jeff! Sounds like a nice variety.

Not as far as I know. Arkansas has not stocked many hybrids.
