Quick trip to the dam 8-12

We had some rain early this morning but according to the radar forecast, it was supposed to end around 8. I decided to try the dam access as they were scheduled to run 1 unit starting at 8. When I got there 2 units were running which is a bit high for that area. Since I was already there, I got ready and walked downstream. I tied on an egg/midge combo under an indicator and caught a couple average size rainbows and 1 brookie. Then I hooked this pretty male rainbow and fought it for about 15 minutes. After that I started hearing thunder and checked my phone. A big storm developed over the lake so I made a hasty retreat. 

Note to self.... never trust the radar forecast or the SWPA forecasts.

I use the My Radar app.  Just radar no BS.    I’ve tracked fronts right down to the minute of getting to me.   I use the classic radar setting    Seems more defined   Thx for the report and picture

I use the Weather Channel radar app. It is accurate for the previous 3 hours up to the present time. It then shows the "forecasted" radar picture for the next 6 hours... which sometimes is a craps shoot.

I just watch the live radar.  It’s only delayed a few minutes.

I also fished the dam this a.m.  nice to meet you in person Netboy.    I fished a couple of hours including a couple of breaks in the truck as the thunder rolled.   Caught around a ten, most on a scud.    Lost a good one at the net 20”+.   I too looked at the weather Chanel ap before leaving the house…the the future turned out to be a crap shoot.
