Quillback Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Hit the lake early, off the water at 1030. There was scattered striper top water activity early. Picked up a couple of smallmouth on top, missed a couple of stripers. Top water slowed down, so went to throwing a 5/16th oz jig and a c-rigged craw on gravel. Picked up smallmouth here and there on the c-rig and jig. Pretty much in the 10-20 FOW range. Fishing a point and stripers started blowing up all around me. Caught two on top, one went about 12 lbs. and the other was a 3 lber. It was a brief flurry, but fun while it lasted. Ended the morning with close to 20 smallmouth and the two stripers. Lots of cicadas still being loud back in the woods, none on the water however. bfishn, BilletHead, MarkG52 and 4 others 7
AR Huzgr Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Good day right there! I haven't been out much due to weather and golf. Probably tomorrow. Glad to hear striper getting more active. I've mostly seen solos, not big schools. Main lake or up major creek arms? Quillback 1

I can't give the exact spot away because my striper buddies would kill me, but that big island where point 1 is located has some stripers around it on the main lake side and in the channel. Best thing to do is get there at daylight and if there is no wind, you'll see them. AR Huzgr and bfishn 2
