Dutch Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I run a 36 volt Ulterra. My batteries are new everything has been working well. However yesterday fishing into a 22 mph wind I noticed that even though I was on spot lock the boat would not hold on the spot. It would sometimes be a couple of boat lengths down wind from where it was set. Boat scale = 0
nomolites Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I run the 24v, and mine drifts a bit as well in a swell(LOZ) or in wind gusts, but will always work back to the WP. I have noticed it seems to be because it ramps slowly - I’m assuming in part to keep from tossing my fat butt out of the boat, so I am OK with that as long as I am not to near a dock or very shallow water. snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I’ve heard some guys recalibrate it. Mine will drift a little in river current but will dart back to WP quickly sometimes. But I think it’s because my Jon boat is light and flat bottom. I run 24 volt 80 pound Ultrex. And love it!
jdmidwest Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I run a 12v Motorguide X3 on my Tracker 17.5. I use the remote on my vest to control, works like a charm. When drifting on TN River, lock it in and retye a lure on if I break off or need to play a fish. I want to use the autopilot more, just don't fish it enough to play with it. snagged in outlet 3 and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. It’s the best thing for river fishing ever.
