Ranger520vx Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Friend of mine has this motor for sale. It came on a pontoon that he bought he said it ran good. He took it to a dealership to have it tuned up and serviced and they told him that they thought #1 injector wasn’t working right. He really wanted a 4 stroke so he bought one and wants to sell this one. Each cylinder will jump a 1/2” spark gap and all cylinders have right at 95 psi compression. Lower unit has no water in it and shifts as it should. Comes with top mount controls, cables and oil tank. He’s asking $1000.00 obo. I have more pictures with cover off but could only put 2 on. Also has clear title.

The spark plugs need to be INDEXED on that model (meaning that the gap on all spark plugs must be facing their respective injectors). A fresh set of plugs, INDEXED PROPERLY, would likely cure any lean #1 issue. If I had a potential buyer I would take it off your hands.......But at this particular time I don't. 🤷♂️

You mark the gap area, on the insulator, then swap them around until they all seat properly. It's either a total PIA or it works out perfectly the first time. 😅 Typically there is always ONE that gives you fits, and you might have to buy 8-10 spark plugs in order to get 6 installed properly.....and they ain't cheap. And that's why you always suspect THAT whenever only one or two cylinders are underperforming on a FICHT or a G2. Class Dismissed 🎓 snagged in outlet 3 1
MrGiggles Posted February 3 Posted February 3 It's an old drag racer's trick, too. Much more common back before ignition systems were as hot as they are today. Also, some engines with flat top or popup pistons don't have the clearance for a ground strap. -Austin
