Expand I didn't see that in any of the reports at the time, did this come out later at trial or is it a local knowledge thing?

Expand Yep, some of them even tried to burn the place down.....while the other two were in custody. There was a series of additional investigations immediately afterwards, but they had been given the heads-up that it was coming......so they had time to scrub it, cover the tracks, and avoid any further prosecution. There is/was a homeless shelter, some country band, a preacher and a church involved...... but as far as I know they couldn't aquire enough evidence to get search warrants, or to go any further. The dude that had the snake farm....whose wife poisoned him.....was supposedly involved, but again NOT ENOUGH SOLID EVIDENCE to go further. tjm and snagged in outlet 3 2
tjm Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I did find it remarkable that the sheriff's people had been all over that place finding the cage and bones and meat package etc. and never saw or set off the trip wires with the incendiary devices. That kinda suggests that the bombs and trip wires were added later, the lack of crime scene marking was strange too. One could wonder how much involvement leos had?
fishinwrench Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I heard that the authorities got pre-disposed with trying to tie those two old boys in to the Stacy Streeter case ("The Springfield missing 3") and by the time they got over THAT they had allowed too much time for the others to clean up their act. tjm 1
WestCentralFisher Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I somehow completely missed out on this story, and until I did some research was assuming y'all were just trying to scare people away from fishing the Niangua River. Sadly, I am mistaken.

Expand My mind goes there immediately, anytime they pretend to not be able to find enough evidence for something. Crooked LEO's can pull off pretty much anything they set their mind to. tjm 1

Expand It was a pretty big deal at the time and if you look back in the forum you can find the discussions we had back then, as well as some talk about the murdered snake breeder that wrench mentioned. snagged in outlet 3 1
