Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 24 Root Admin Posted September 24 Yep you heard right. Flood gates in September. 2 of 4 units are off line and they have to run 15,000 cfs because of the water influx due to rain. Quick facts - WT. over gates is about 70 and DO is 6.9 ppm. through the turbines best I can tell it's 58 and DO is as low as 2.7. Well, the Corp thinks that running 2 units and 3 gates that they don't have to inject liquid O2 into the turbines. Risky. But so far fishing is pretty good, no ill affects. dpitt, tjm, Daryk Campbell Sr and 3 others 6
MickinMO Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I mean, it's up to 917 not 927. This seems a little unnecessary considering PP is 917, even if they want to dump Beaver a bit.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 25 Author Root Admin Posted September 25 I would agree. But they don’t go by Lake levels necessarily they go by rain on the ground. I guess they have a way to estimate how much water is in the watershed and what releases need to happen. They are going to decrease the water coming over the spill gates at 4 o’clock today. Travis Swift Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Quick little shot of shad over the top is awfully nice for the fishery.
Quillback Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Looks like they opened the spillway at Beaver a bit, plus generation. snagged in outlet 3 1
