Members Bassinboy14 Posted Monday at 03:07 AM Members Posted Monday at 03:07 AM With the cooler months approaching, I’ve been going through my jig making supplies, is there a shorter shank alternative to the 32798 Mustad hook?
Quillback Posted Monday at 01:37 PM Posted Monday at 01:37 PM I've been fishing Jewel Pee-Wee jigs lately and they come with a short shank sickle hook. Dunno the hook manufacturer. Dutch as made some similar, if he sees this he can give you more specific info. @Dutch cheesemaster and Champ188 2
Members Toby Estes Posted Monday at 03:17 PM Members Posted Monday at 03:17 PM I’m not sure what jig you are making, but I make alot ovf the finesse ball head and arky style jig that both use that hook. I usually just drop down 1 size for a shorter shank (4/0 to 3/0). I also use the 32796 hook alot. You can check out Barlow Tackle for some comparison of different hooks. They actually have pictures comparing different sizes and manufacturers. Champ188 1

Great people over there. 870.481.5588

Toby, I use Barlow for some things myself but there's another place online for hooks where I've had great service and awesome prices. Usually much cheaper than Barlow. https://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/

Travis Swift Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Eagle claw make some jig hooks these days that end in BP and I believe they are far superior to the Mustad ones. I've been using them for a couple of years and love them.
