Weight to weigh is 1.8 pounds and the MLF guys are saying full blown spawn on the full moon.

They are again saying. Spinnerbait, chatterbait and crank bait

Lots of bed fishing also.

They were  totally wrong on TR and fished it so bad it made the lake look barren.

I think the big fish in RedCrest was only 4.10. I’m sure Beaver will top that.

The ramps up here are packed with them.  Have not seen a single MLF boat on gravel. All on bluffs or steep stuff throwing a chatter.

They can’t be on Beaver so they are practicing up here and from what I hear several have been spotted on Bull Shoals.

It seems the same thing is going to happen on Beaver.  Use FFS on deep bed fish in the first period then struggle the last 2 periods.

That is unless this rain raises the lake level and colors up the water.

Up here they drove past 20 keepers to catch 1. We’ll see if it’s the same with Beaver.

It’s going to be a fun watch.

I'm looking forward to watching it, but have no predictions on what will work.  I know of a couple of guys that ran into pretty good top water bites last week in the mid lake area, but wonder if that will happen next week.  I believe they can practice Mon-Wed. next week, I may get out there one of those days to see if any of them are on the lower end smallmouth country.

There will be some new spawners, but the bulk have already done the deed IMO.

I went out yesterday, and we caught about 30 in 4 hours.  Out of those 30 I'd say about 12 were scoreable.  Biggest being a 3.2 smallmouth.  Most of the scoreables were that upper 1 lb to 2.2 lb range.

When I switched to the ned rig, I caught better quality than the swimbait I was throwing.  When I was throwing the swimbait I had the boat at 12-14' casting towards the bank.  When I picked up the ned I was sitting in 6' casting out to 10'-15' towards standing timber.

Sometime around or shortly after noon, the fish just stopped biting.  Classic Beaver lake.

I even went back to the spot where I caught them on the ned rig, and couldn't get a bite.  Stripers had moved in and that may have had something to do with it, but Beaver Lake can turn like a light switch, good or bad, any day you go out.
