Another cool find, this time a lure.

     After a fishing outing at Bennett springs on the way home we stopped for a break at one of our favorite new,used, vintage and antique store. We both know what we like and walk through the aisles fast scanning as we go. We came upon a large section of netting covered with used lures. My eyes keyed in on a spook one of my favorite top water baits for hybrids. Some of the places we fish can get really crazy with snags for bait and fish losses. I'm always open for cheap spooks. This one had a 5 dollar tag. Good find I thought but looking at it it was strange looking.

A bendback I soon found out as I ran it through a Google search photo id. This soon opened a big can of worms so they say. 

  The first ones were made in the 70s. Six colors. In 2004 another run and many went to the Japanese market. Seven colors including the special edition green crawdad I found. This thing is mint except for not being in the box. There isn't even a hook scratch on it. I doubt it was even used. Prices are all over the place. One listing for this one at mybaitshop.com is 125.00 for this color.  I'm sure over the years I have seen these before and not paid attention to all the different types of spooks. I'm sure some of you experts can tell me more .

I have a lot of spooks but I don’t recall ever seeing one like that.

I had a solid chrome one that had the swayback. I don’t recall any difference in action when I tossed it. I wonder what the reasoning was for building them like that.
