  1. I am in a major fishing rut. Major rut as in have only been 1 time in the last 28 days. Im thinking that a solo overnighter on a new river with a case of beer, a few deer loin steaks, and a fly rod may be just the ticket to break out. A few things, 1.) I have never done a float camp trip, shame on me its about to happen. 2.) Never fished the Niangua, 11 pt, Current, Jacks Fork, North Fork, basically nothing farther east than Flat Creek. 3.) I would like a (legit) chance at an 18". Where would you suggest? Im thinking 10-12 Miles, shorter can work. Will likely be an afternoon start and a mid to late afternoon finish.
  2. C'mon now, there is NO debate on that one.....
  3. Mauk sucks. ok not that bad but he is only consistent in breaking my heart. He just doesn't seem to see as well as I would think a top tier SEC qb should. Cant say he isn't a winner though, the last 2 years have been great years to be a MIZZOU fan........
  4. Same mindset myself as of late.
  5. I wish that I liked squirrel, fun to hunt but not to eat. I only hunt them during squirrel derbies, if I know the Laotian lady will be there to collect.
  6. Now I know the answer, I read it on the Internet
  7. Not doubting, just curious, what was it previously that caused that?
  8. EASY NOW!!!!! Looks like you are about to spill that beer. Nice fish, congrats.
  9. I have heard and wondered the same myself......
  10. Get what you like, as in what looks like you want, read reviews, figure out a budget and be happy with what you get. The grass is always greener, even if you have a dozen boats, there will always be another you like. To me, 50 lbs vs 75 lbs is certainly noticeable, but even the heavy boats sre manageable. Just go fish!
  11. jealous, very jealous
  12. Excellent Report(s). Super jealous, I got a very short morning of fly fishing in last year on an elk hunt, first time west since I was a kid. You make me want to take a fall trip in a BAD way. Kudos and thanks for the pics!
  13. Poor pathetic Hickory, doesn't have much of a chance. Fun to fish a few times a year, occasionally a shot at a big girl, but can never compete with any other MO trout stream (urban lakes excluded)
  14. Very glad to hear its beginning to show a few spots to wade, im dying for some tailwater fishing.
  15. I don't believe any 1 channel is carrying all, but should be able to find all of them on 1 channel or another if you have a good (cable) package.
  16. My uncle caught this dude this a.m. Not measured but im guessing 20-21 inch range?
  17. just guessing 5 ish miles
  18. no telling this yr, but last yr there were 3 or 4 good log jams and the dam in Ritchey sucks, but the water is good...... post a report if you go

    Question

Ha! I hate snakes, October for me.
  20. Top 3 are a smallie fly i sorta made up. The rest are sculpins, one day they might quit generating and I can use them.
  21. I have only cast a bvk, (sweet rod) but on Taney I find myself throwing a 6 wt A LOT. you can throw a midge on a 6, slight overkill but not major, then you can switch to a egg/nymph tandem set, then switch to a streamer without feeli g like you are chunking a boulder. jmo, but try at least 1 6wt on taney.....
  22. Too freaking hot to work, might as well sit in my tying room and tie.
  23. That should help people make pic reports more often! I know it will make my reports more pic heavy!
  24. Im guessing TR is backed up to Beaver Dam, that = still water fishing. This time of yr, with tailwaters running (basically) constantly, you will do MUCH better to go get after the little mouthed brown fish (smallmouth). Any creek in the area you want to fish. Good luck either way, have fun!
  25. Glass green costas
