  1. Sunline hi-vis green in 15lb. It has 8lb diameter so I match the flouro to that diameter. I start out with approximately a 6-8ft leader. I let it get to about 2ft before I put a new leader on. Braid main line eliminates line twist, gives you more sensitivity, casts farther and will save you money in the long run because you aren’t buying as much flouro and the braid last a lot longer. The hi-vis line really helps you be able to line watch a lot better. I don’t always feel a bite, but the combo of sensitive, easily seen line is going to increase your catch rate. IMO.
  2. I just can’t get myself to use less than 8lb flouro on my spinning rods. I’ve starting using braid with flouro leader and I absolutely love it.
  3. Yeah Quill. Jason Christie had an article about how tough it was. He was talking about going away from all the shad. When Christie zeros on his home lakes you know it’s tough. It’s on the uptick but still down from previous years.
  4. Fluke, weightless worm, wacky senko, finesse jig. Something with a slow fall rate would be where I started. If that doesn’t work I’d consider faster falling stuff.
  5. Yes. If they are pre or post spawn docks could be loaded. Concentrate on the ones in pockets and creeks more so than main lake unless it’s right by a pocket or front of a creek.
  6. Few years back in February. Monte Ne. A-rig with 85lb braid.
  7. This one weighed 31.71lbs according to my Rapala scale.
  8. If you google proper settings on YouTube, there should be plenty of videos showing you optimal settings. That’s how I setup my Lowrance. Good luck.
  9. Not too far from Long creek either. A lot of tournaments won there. Need to add crank bait to your arsenal for sure. Jig will be a good bait as well. If you have brown and black jigs you will be covered. Ned rigs will catch them too. I like the PB/J. You should be able to catch them on whatever you want if the water temps are pushing 60 degrees. Have fun and be safe!
  10. I saw the post. I’ll try to find it.
  11. I’ve found disco blue flukes to be the best color. Pearl white early then disco blue after sun gets up.
  12. If you guys will remember that tournament they had in the Louisiana Delta a few years back. Several boats were using those infrared navigation systems in the fog. They could see stuff through the fog. That seemed dangerous at the time for sure.
  13. They definitely work on Beaver.
  14. Gotcha. It’s which ever side the crank is on.
  15. Crank with your left hand. A lot of pros are switching to left hand reels when flipping and pitching because it’s usually a quick bite after the lure hits the water. Having a left hand reel eliminates the time between casting then switching the rod back to the other hand. I use left hand reels on everything so I just want another reel.
  16. I would buy it if you were in Bentonville. If you ever come this way. If not I understand.
  17. I like it Quill. When that water warms up a little that fluke bite will be on in that submerged brush.
  18. I know they are quite a bit more expensive than the others. I’m curious about this myself.
  19. Good all around size is half oz. Gerald Swindle says you need 2 colors. Black and brown. Don’t overthink it. I have one tied on every time I go out. It’s a great follow up bait or primary bait.
  20. Not yet. Trying it out Sunday.
  21. I found an original T1 25p. Thank you.
  22. Thanks for the info Wrench and Vernon. I really like the look of the new G2 and love the warranty. I would definitely consider one on my next purchase after reading this. I’ve only heard that the Rude has lower unit issues on the etec and G2. I live in NWA and I don’t think anyone here can do warranty work. I would have to go to southern Missouri. Which isn’t too far.
  23. That is a tough question. The more you fish the more those answers come more clear. Time on the water is the best teacher by far. It depends on so many factors it can be mind boggling. I struggle with this a lot. If I know fish are in the area I tend to grind it out more. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn’t. When I started fishing 10 years ago I would ask the same questions and couldn’t understand why people kept telling me to just go fishing and it will come to you. There is no right answer. I would say fish to your strengths and let the chips fall where they may.
