  1. I fish for carp specifically several times a year AND I throw at every one I see while bass or crappie fishing hoping to get lucky
  2. I bet Speckled trout would like them. Especially the Jackall I prop
  3. If you like beer, bring a case and a DD.
  4. I have three brands. I've caught fish on all three brands. They do each fish a little differently. Duo Realis Spinbait 80 has the best shimmy LC Screw Pointer 80 seems to settle a little slower but I haven't thrown as much as Duo Jackall I Prop Spybait runs shallower than the others. It got bit early and often shallow in spring, but it was always small fish that I could have caught Better on something else with a single hook point
  5. Worth noting I caught a decent Northern Hog Sucker yesterday on a #6 hook and a red wiggler. A coupe BB shot to hold it in place. Took a little while and I'm still mad at the dozens of other suckers that ignored me and the plethora of Long Ear Sunfish that made me think I was getting a bite from a sucker.
  6. I'm gonna say that's a backhanded compliment at best. Certified Spy Bait addict is closer to truth. But it was a good swap. I needed the jerkbaits even less than the spy baits.
  7. I'm shocked that White Bass don't knock the snot out of them.
  8. I get bit every time I throw it, but I have caught more Big panfish than bass. I am not short on patience, but I can't throw it for 30 minutes w/o losing my mind.
  9. i never met him, but he was certainly well liked and respected. I would guess he lived well based on the fact that I never heard a bad word said about him. A good fisherman that has become Table Rock Legend.
  10. Miss a word, miss a lot. I've caught a channel catfish. That's it. I need to head your way. I want a blue, flathead, and a bullhead.
  11. I'm stuck at a lowly 40 species which equals my previous "high" for a year. I've made a list of possible fish that is sitting at 39 species. So, I've got room to improve. I'm gonna burn some gas to make sure I get to 52 species for the year. im so far behind John on the species count that he won't even tell me the number. He's trying to save me from having hurt feelings. One cool thing is 13 of my fish species are the fish time I've ever caught them (lifers). It won't hold up, but roughly a third of my total is first time ever which is cool. My total fish caught is very anemic at this point as well. I'm sitting at a paltry 1555 fish caught. Barring a major set back, Ill get to 2000, but it will be the first time in 5 years I won't have caught 3000 fish. Numbers aren't every thing. I'm had some tremendous experiences this year.
  12. hard to express that sad and awful that is.
  13. This is a really nice rig that was lovingly and meticulously cared for. The motor starts right up and ran flawlessly when I was in it. I grew up in 14 foot boats. Plenty of room for two to fish out of. The 20/25 is plenty of power. It scoots along nicely. This would be an excellent boat for the 11 Pt , Current, White, Norfork, and other rivers. Great boat that won't break the bank. It is literally as good as new at less than 1/2 the price of new.
  14. The projected forecast for generation is released in the afternoon the day before so while it can be a big help in planning, it is limited to next day. The trout bite all year long. Come catch some.
  15. What time frame? it would be a lot easier if the generation levels dropped down a little bit. that may happen sooner rather than later as the water level in BSL get lower. get the USCOE Little Rock district app so you can see projected generation. Read past fishing reports. Not a whole lo5 of changes to the way I fish. Day to day adaptations based on water level and time of year.
  16. Well, the whole purpose of the drag chain is to keep the boat from spinning down river. I want the boat parallel to the current if possible. it does slow the boat slightly. If I feel like it is slowing the boat down too much, I'll shorten the rope up a little bit to reduce the amount of chain in contact with the bottom. I feel like it helps regardless of what type fishing I'm doing, but if you have a TM on the bow or a guy on oars in the middle, you don't need it.
  17. Man, this thread is a ray of sunshine.
  18. At times, why?
  19. Nope not yet. Generally, we try to get some dates between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It starts being pulled together in mid October.
  20. I got Northern Hog Sucker in Janurary on a Zig Jig. I had a chance at another on a Zig Jig is August. He ran it three times high in the water column. Crazy stuff.
  21. Everybody calling Dibs on fishing with Jake at Jigfest!
  22. I hear you MoCarp, but I rarely put that much effort into making food for myself much less making fish food.
  23. I'll trade trips anytime. White or Norfork for Taney or Upper Bull Shoals. I'll still buy the Boga.
  24. If you really want to sell your Boga, please let me know.
  25. I'm not sure I want to catch suckers any more.
