  1. I'm gonna bet I could make a Bull Trout hit a Zig Jig.
  2. Color matters when in matters. Sometimes not at all and other times it can make or break you.
  3. I give zero flocks about this bait.
  4. I LOVE your Western trip reports. I'm super Happy for you and the Mrs that you enjoy spending time together fishing/hunting/cooking. I know your dog has been well loved and cared for. I hate that her lifespan is finite and that a Sad ending is coming for her (and all of us). Thanks for the pictures of her none the less.
  5. Lol, not me man. Too cheap. Besides I'm saving up my pennies of JDM top water baits.
  6. Some of the Berkley stuff flat out works. More for some species than others, but still. I would be most interested in dropping a Bait Cloud down on a big brush pile I was going to fish for crappie or maybe a location that I was going to catfish. I would not be throwing them in a creek/ river. I think the current would wash it all away.
  7. Gee Whiz Flysmallie. Go to Your Happy Place or something.
  8. I'm probably too cheap to buy them, but I'm not gonna hate on the idea either.
  9. I'd love to hear what Justin thinks about it. maybe he will chime in on the subject in October when things slow down for him.
  10. If I am remembering correctly, I had one Brookie I caught that was around 15 inches. I had another really nice one on that came off as I stretched my net out, and I caught a really nice one by hand that got stranded in a pool when the water fell out. I saved him from a tourist or a Great Blue Heron. The one yesterday was closer to 10 inches I would guess. I could measure the holes in the net and get a close guess. They are typically much smaller than all the other trout. They only put 15000 ( or is it 10,000) in the river all in one bunch in October. The poor little things get loved to death (caught a whole bunch) since they are so aggressive and they are tasty snacks for large Brown trout. I'm sure its better than dumping them in the parking lot, but I'm not sure they are ever going to do all that great here.
  11. I worry more about water levels for the fish.
  12. Its a BIG lake and there are lots of times when other areas of the lake are Red Hot compared to Jimmy Creek. I would never ever consider limiting myself to that one area. Maybe after you move down full time, you'll look at other areas of the lake.
  13. The true Golden age of the White River. You got to fish with some true legends of the area too. Lucky.
  14. You need to add "Killer of the tree rat" to your official title.
  15. Now you're just being mean.
  16. Wow Pete! That thing was s monster! The river is full of quality Rainbows and maybe even some that size.
  17. The trout bite every day unless the water is blown out muddy/trashy. BUT October is an awesome time to trout fish. Cutts are in both rivers and I catch them in both. I catch a lot more Brookies in the Norfork, but I have caught 2 or 3 in the White over the years. My preference would be to "guide" you on the Norfork if water levels allow.
  18. I got there a few minutes after 2 PM. I never heard the horn go off. The water looked brown and trashy for a few minutes and then clearer. I fished in the pool above the ramp for a little while to let the dingy water proceed downstream ahead of me. I wish I had known you were down there. I could have brought a seat and additional PFD.
  19. I'll check and get back to you. I know I work the next two weekends. I know I am unavailable the weekend of 9/24.
  20. There are bunch of > 16 inch Rainbows in Norfork right now. Really Fat and Happy. I need a buddy to come down and float kayaks downstream on low water.
  21. I actually know a lot more about scotch than your average non drinker. The whole peat scorch (liquid band aid adhesive) vs non peat scotch is interesting. Adding a splash of water to release more flavor. The Japanese whiskey made in the Scottish traditions is another interesting story. All the other whiskey variations. I see no reason to add another unnecessary expense in my life. I appreciate good fishing gear. Whiskey is a taste I will never acquire. Leaves more money for unnecessary expensive topwater lures.
