  1. Having seen multiple rec areas around the lake I can't imagine it being 10 feet high without hurting a lot of people's feelings, Lol. Bull coming up 15 foot and its business as usual.
  2. I loved the way it cast and went on the reel, but I couldn't go near a rock without it being all shredded from the bait up about 6 inches. I drag my Ned thru the jungle and Red Label and P Line CX Premium do pretty well. I check it from time to time.
  3. We had a pile of Channel Cats too. They were all nice ones too, but for whatever reason I didnt get any pictures of them.
  4. Invis X has the abrashion resistance of wet toilet paper. I can not imagine how you guys are getting away with dragging the Ned thru the battlefield and not breaking off on every hookset.
  5. Or you might just be touched in the head
  6. Oops
  7. The photo doesn't capture the subtle metallic sheen with purple undertones well. This was a pretty goo. We caught them everyday except Sunday maybe. We had 6 one day and 7 another day and multiples on Wed and Thursday. Ned mostly.
  8. there was the occasional LMB
  9. . I thought it looked like a travel trailer sorta
  10. . First blue cat on the Ned for me.
  11. . Big Girl of the trip
  12. Awwww Sucks
  13. . The grub still has a place.
  14. Lol, I was told I HAD to use 4 lb line to get very many bites on the Zig Jig.
  15. And catching 20 AIN'T a BAD day. Years of fishing the spillway in Louisiana makes me appreciate catching more than a handful of fish and I always WANT to catch more than I am.
  16. I'm slowly learning not to beat myself up when I don't really whack em. You can only catch the ones that bite and more and more I believe that a lot of times you are on the fish, they just are not active. I've seen it multiple times now where I was grinding in an area with nothing to show for it, and a weather change happens and I catch a pile of them in a hurry. I would guess that the weather has that part of the lake fishing a little slower.
  17. The key word there is YET.
  18. I know right? If he ever tried Nano, he's see it has the advantages or braid yet out throws mono. Starting to think a quality mono is better leader material than fluro. Don't worry about losing a few fish when you are catching so many. It stands to reason that if you are catching lots of fish, you are bound to have a get off every now and again. It you are only catch a handful of fish and you lose a big one, that really sucks.
  19. They "adjusted" the pool to say it's a summer seasonal pool of 659. That's lets them run more water for trout during the summer and make a little ,Money too, but I consider it 14 foot high
  20. [quote name="Quillback" post="390720" timestamp="142987531 Did you throw the Ned at them?
  21. I got used to the guage before they tore the slab out. I had to re-learn what levels I consider good for floating.
  22. Rick, you ought to take the Boys. We caught Channel cats everyday on bass lures. What would cut bait do? We got White Bass everyday on bass lures. What happens if you really fished for them? And oh My Goodness the smallies.
  23. You the man Dave! Are you ever going back to Kansas?
  24. CajunAngler and I took our annual Spring trip this year to Tenkiller. We fished from 4/19 thru 4/23. I wanted to see if the the stories of plus sized smallies were true. Well... They are true. In spades. The lake is flat full of fish and if you are willing to put you time in and can fish TR or BSL, you'll catch them at Tenkiller. We put over 400 fish in the five days we fished and had a handful of smallies over 18 inches every day. CajunAngler had the big Smallie of the trip. 19 1/2 inches. She was obese. 4lb 12 oz on a digital scale. We caught Smallies, Spots, LMB, Drum, Channel Cats, A Blue Cat, White Bass, a Black Crappie, and a Green Sunfish. We mostly caught smallies. Supposedly, the lake has largemouth bass. We never found them. The lake is full of Spotted Bass. In Oklahoma, there is no limit of Spotted Bass and NO minimum length. They value White Bass above Spots. How can this be? The little Spots are hanging in there despite the best efforts to wipe them out. It is also full of White Bass, crappie, and catfish. We had an outstanding trip. I suspect that we will return. I know I want to do so. We stayed at Cookson Store and Cabins. Their phone number is 918-457-5171. Reasonable rates and a good spot for fishermen. Close to lots of boat ramps. I recommend them and I'd stay there again. I appreciate the help and encouragement from TrophyFishR. He knows the lake better than I ever will. and as always I appreciate CajunAngler setting things up. I mostly just show up and fish. We split expenses, but he does more of the heavy lifting prior to us getting there. Thanks Man!
  25. Fishing was great, but I suspect would have been better if they had not been pulling it down. It all worked out,
