  1. We rented a house as a group. I like that idea, but I could not have done that this trip.
  2. 3/4 's of the shoreline is natural park with NO FISHING and the reefs are all off limits to fishing as well. 😢
  3. So, did get to drag some Ballyhoo around for 3 hours. The boat caught a cuda. I caught nothing. Great snorkeling / diving in the Pass de Cozumel. ill post the guys info later. Guys were pros. I felt very safe. Saw a lot of fish.
  4. Not gotten any fishing in yet. I hope to go tomorrow. Give me a kayak and the right gear here, I could have had a blast.
  5. I'd love to catch a freaking snook and they sell the things at the grocery.
  6. Cozumel. Black Bass for sale in local grocery store. Another pic taken of snook a foot or two away.
  7. You ought to be able to get 3K and maybe more if it is really clean. Just have to see what the market will bear.
  8. Ole Blue
  9. Water Temp 51.5 to 52 degrees. Water had a lot more stain than the areas of BSL that I have been fishing. It was breezy. Air temp started at 52 and dropped throughout the day. It was 45 degrees when I had to bail. Rain started at 10 am or so and never completely stopped. It was raining pretty hard for a while. A smarter version of me would have worn a coat or st least one more layer. My struggles with baitcasters continue. I did manage to get A 17 inch largemouth bass on a Megabass 110 Plus 1. I fished multiple JB's. Multiple Warts in 4 different locations. Spinnerbait. I caught the one bait I got with a baitcaster. Fortunately, I can fish with spinning rods as well. I also got to Long Pole some crappie which I dearly love. swim baits, Ned Rig, and Drop Shot. Bobby Garland Baby Shad on 1/16 and 1/24 oz Jig heads for the crappie. I caught my Third ever Lake Norfork walleye today. Ned rig. I would have been fine if more walleye would have eaten a Jerk Bait. I had a social obligation so I had to quit at 3 PM. I left them biting. I finished with 24 all together. Pretty sure that it was my last fishing trip of the year. 😢 Fair Warning: Run on the Channel side of the lake. The flat side has Full Size trees randomly scattered about. Left overs from the Spring flood. Gonna suck if you hit one.
  10. The pic or no pic mystery continues. #TeamNoSeeEm in Flippin.
  11. It's pretty chilly here. But just wet and awful, No Snow
  12. 17 1/4 inch walleye. A great "eater" if it was legal to keep.
  13. I caught quite a few Spotted Bass. Including this one on the third cast of the day

  15. Man, that's bad luck. I fear the Golden age of the WP may be coming to a close, but it's always going to tigger some bites This rod is NOT the tool for that job. Look elsewhere.
  16. I've been wanting a better cranking rod for a long time. I finally broke down and bought one of the Lew's Wart Rods. Ive only made one trip with it, but I really like it. That sucker is light weight. I paired mine with a Lew's Tournament MB in 5.6 : 1. Cast well. Very sensitive. I wish I could tell you how it handles a fish, but no experience with that to this point. One of the guys at SFO warned me that it was a bit on the light side for fishing a Spro RK Crawler. I have not tried that yet, but I imagine I'm going to be uncomfortable really bearing down on a hard throw with a Crawler tied on. I will be heading out again tomorrow hoping to find some Wart fish. I will comment again after I've had more experience with the rod.
  17. Fleece gloves while fishing. Ski gloves while running the boat. Chen packs in pockets to thaw your hands from time to time.
  18. Hoarding fishing tackle goes back over 10,000 years. I'm just carrying on an ancient tradition.
  19. Too many get representation without taxation. They get to vote for taxes on a state and local level that they will not directly pay. Everyone needs to have some skin in the game.
  20. A Man has to know his limits. My limit ends before using my boat as an ice breaker. If the ramp is frozen solid, I'm going back home.
  21. Not trying to be "that guy", but I've fished colder days a few times. I did a solo wade trip on Norfork when it was 13 when I left the house. The access was 10 minutes away so it may have warmed up some. I put the BassCat in at BSL when if was 16, but the boat was dry so it wasn't frozen to the trailer. It was a little chilly at Jigfest.
  22. I think the materials they use would last longer than most fish live. They way they place the tag makes me think that the tags are not at all likely to fall out in there own.
  23. Me too! I backed in to my normal depth, took off the safety chain, and leaned into it to slide it 1/2 way off the trailer and NOTHING moved at all. Oh well, I backed it in a little further and I was good to go.
