If I am remembering correctly, I had one Brookie I caught that was around 15 inches. I had another really nice one on that came off as I stretched my net out, and I caught a really nice one by hand that got stranded in a pool when the water fell out. I saved him from a tourist or a Great Blue Heron. The one yesterday was closer to 10 inches I would guess. I could measure the holes in the net and get a close guess.
They are typically much smaller than all the other trout. They only put 15000 ( or is it 10,000) in the river all in one bunch in October. The poor little things get loved to death (caught a whole bunch) since they are so aggressive and they are tasty snacks for large Brown trout. I'm sure its better than dumping them in the parking lot, but I'm not sure they are ever going to do all that great here.
