  1. Very straightforward functional boats that last a LONG time. Lots of good used boats out there that with a little TLC can be very functional at a low price or go brand new for <15K. Good Luck with your search. Plenty of tips here about fishing the White River.
  2. I have in the now distant past actually tied up decent looking clousers. I like mine sparse though. It is a super all species fly and It was my best fly for crappie.
  3. YES, except when someone you have not blocked quotes them. It does always give you the option to click it and see what the person has typed.
  4. If there was one once, there's a decent chance there is another one now.
  5. I would only add that if you find yourself getting aggravated by the same people all the time, you should use the IGNORE feature. Very handy tool. Don't feed the trolls.
  6. Hey Man, I get it. I want to be in on that deal too, but most likely, I'm not willing to pay the iron price and suffer the expense and discomfort of a bunch of unproductive trips when I have limited time off. I tend to fish closer to home on trips that I know will be productive (says the guy that drove 2 hours each way to fish a total 5 hours earlier this week)..
  7. I have my lifetime for Louisiana, but at my age, it didn't make sense in Arkansas. I'll be able to get the lifetime Senior license before too long. Lol
  8. I was watching a fishing show on a Canadian walleye fishery and the guide was saying 24 inch walleye was a real big one. Hmmm Now the Great Lakes are just crazy. Tons of BIG walleye.
  9. MOST ppl will not brave the elements this time of year to roll the dice on catching a few fish. I choose which trips I want to post about. I make a lot of very successful trips I don't say a word about over concerns the Internet and search engines. You can ruin you favorite fishing spot sharing too much information.
  10. I don't think it is about the head soze, but more about the ovwerall profile. These type baits typically have the smaller blades of a 1/4 oz . Less lift so you can burn them fast of slow roll them and get them deep quickly. I kinda like em. A lot .
  11. if anything, you were too late NOT too early. It happens much earlier than I would have guessed. I think that is a pay your dues deal which is a LOT easier if you live real close.
  12. I'm a big fan of the Ozark Mountain Traditions 84 UL. Made in Flippin, AR at Dorber Inc. Denali Rods is a growing brand that is a quality product.
  13. I don't think a 20 lb walleye is out of the realm of possibility. If I catch it, I'll let you know.
  14. I caught a 19 1/4 inch Spot from Lower BUll Shoals dragging a tube in 30 FOW water. No weight, but it was a toad. CajunAngler had a 4.76 on a digital scale back in Louisiana on the Ouachita River. Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries said it would have been 3rd heaviest documented, but they wanted him to kill it and bring it to them to certify later. I think it was a Friday and they weould get around to it on Monday. He decided to release the fish instead.
  15. I mistakenly bought a couple of the 9"s thinking they were what I had. My Bad. The 9's seem big for a creek, but I guess I will give them a shot.
  16. I'm more interested in the jig heads. I wonder what size hook? Can you buy the jig heads w/o the bodies?
  17. Man, I really, really wish I could afford to buy your boat right now. I can't, but someone will. It sounds like a great rig.
  18. As much as I would like to catch a 10 plus pound walleye, I'm not willing to give up my trout trips to do so. I am somewhat spoiled in my success in that I'm not going to give up catching dozens of fish to try for a handful of fish.

    Tippett

ehhhhhh Surgeons knot to attach tippet to leader and usually a cinch to attach fly to tippet.
  20. Eagle Rock OAF gathering??? I'll look into it.
  21. I had a micro guide Falcon in a Cara T7 the Finesse Jig rod. I off loaded it. It wasn't for me. I love the std guide version of that rod and I wanted another one, but all they had in stock was the MG version. I was assured it was all that and a bag of chips. It turns out it didn't really work for me in part because I fish FB jigs often in a cool/cold weather. The smaller guides iced up a lot worse. I found no increase in sensitivity nor any increase in casting distance. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the emperor's new clothes all that much.
  22. That is AMAZING information JR. I struggle to understand how he got that fish to bite and was able to handle it on the rod and reel he would have been using. Crazy, crazy things do happen though.
  23. Hey KJ that would be great. No hurry and no worry ok ?
  24. It was a true giant to be sure. I don't think I would have kept it, but if it acted like it was going to swim off and die, maybe. As long as he caught it legally, it is his fish to do with as he pleases. There are other 30 lb Browns swimming in the White.
  25. Thank You 5 bites. I don't do much on BBC. I think those are the Size 9 which are still available. The 7 was DCed so of course that's the size I want.
