  1. 1) Nanofil 10 lb with a leader. I've got a real nice system for making it last and getting 2-3 reels out of a spool. Properly filled, Even when used frequently, you're good for a year or more. 2) P Line CX Premium
  2. That is a GREAT price. Thanks for the intell. I won't get there in time, but it's nice of you to share.
  3. I would guess you have the option of calling the current owner of Shawnee and Supreme (Rob) to see what parts might be available. I would guess that that stuff is made local and some version that can be fitted to your boat is around.

    Internet

no problems noticed on my part of the big, bad internet.
  5. I'd bet money it's the same place. It was achingly beautiful when I was there. My pictures did not and could not come close to capturing all the parts in play. The shadow play, the rippling water, the random insect movement, and the falling flower petals all on rop of an excellent vista. Then you Layer on the sounds of wind, water, birds, and insects. It was fantastic. I hate to fish behind another group or retread my own "used" water two days in a row. I think you guys caught a lot of the active fish and for the most part, those fish are done for a few days. I'd bet that is just a hop, skip, and a jump for you BUT I have the drive a ways to get there. I sort of believe the saying that two's company and theee's a crowd applies to creek fishing at least on the smaller stuff.
  6. That might be just fine, but since mine is > 10 years old I wasn't sure that the newer mowers were of the same quality. I'm also trying to keep an open mind about other makes and models.
  7. You Sir, Are one of the Great Minds of this country.
  8. I try to keep my yard reasonably maintained, but it doesn't look anything like Augusta National that's for sure. Well... maybe like the second or third rough. I'll start looking into the Zero Turn mowers.
  9. I've never heard a guy running a zero turn mower say they wanted to go back to the traditional model.
  10. I've had my current lawn mover for about 14 years. It is a John Deere 15 HP with a hydrostatic transmission. It's been a real nice mower for me and has paid for itself over the years, but even with repair and maintainence, there comes a time when you need to replace tools. I'm going to need to replace this mower. I have several acres to mow so it has to be a ride on mower. I'd rather have the automatic transmisson, but I could manage to use a manual transmission. I want to keep it to two blades and likely keep the cutting width < 50 inches. I'd love to hear the good , the bad, and the ugly from folks that have bought lawn mowers similar to what I am looking at in the last 5 years or so. Thanks, Ham
  11. It certainly looks like it's brand new. The prop looks pristine.
  12. What is the width of the boat's bottom?
  13. You simply can not imagine how effective the Ned rig can be once you get everything dialed in. It works so well at times that it's stupid.
  14. Very, very nice Jason.
  15. There are decent numbers of trout down to Mountain View, but IF I was moving to the area for the trout fishing, I would want my house to be from Bull SHoals to Norfork.
  16. 1) yes 2) crankbaits will work fine in water with some stain 3) Spots are everywhere. But head up the Theodosia arm and fish points and bluffs, you should find a spotted bass or two. 4) Red's in Lakeshore is a GREAT tackle store, BUT I doubt you'll find Ned stuff there. I haven't been there lately and looked for it.
  17. Spy baits are finesse hardbaits. It is strongly suggested you fish them on very light line. Slow roll them for suspended fish. I'm getting bites EVERYTIME I fish it, but catching very few fish. Not really the deal just yet. You'd be better off throwing topwaters and dragging a tube around.
  18. The guage values changes when they changed Kelly's slab. My absolute minimum is 9.80, but you could go lower just a lot more work and wear on a boat hull.
  19. I have dreams of going fishing and just fishing the stuff that's in the back of my mind whispering "throw me to the kraken". Maybe I'll get there one day, but I have a hard time not going after the fish that I know are there for the catching. it'll have to be a solo trip. I know I can't do it with the other guy whacking fish while I'll trying to learn something or dreaming of the beast that lurks below. Throwing a 6 inch boot tail soft plastic was on my mind pretty heavily Wednesday, but the 4 inch Keitexh didn't catch me anything so I did not move up the food chain.
  20. Boat looks good Rick. Drag it over and we'll put a 100 trout in it. I have seen it done with rubber matting that can be custom cut to fit. Water would run underneath them, but none of the trout jons drain well.
  21. I'm more than a little happy with the status quo. There have been multiple studies done showing that the costs of the hatcheries are more than offset by the revenue they bring in, BUT changes may have to be made. The costs of the hatcheries may have to taken on by the states. Believe it or not, I've heard more than one fisherman say we'd be better off without the hatcheries.
  22. I think they can be caught a lot of ways right now, but some stuff is definitely not working fast enough for me to keep trying. You get to kind of pick your poison in that regard. I wish a Spro frog had come to mind yesterday. I had all that stuff with me and it never crossed my mind. It's Sad to get old. BUT as always not all the fish are doing the same thing. The trick is to find what the biggest group are doing and then find a way that you enjoy that will get them to bite. It's a BIG lake and I promise where you are on the lake can make a NIGHT and DAY difference.
  23. I love the look of a split grip, but honestly prefer to fish with a full handle.
  24. I'll have to wait to hear from Quillback on TR and the spy bait. TR is TOO FAR for me to trailer for on a day trip. IF I do a multiday trip that direction, I insist on Stockton. I'm at 24 species for the year so far. I've caught 11 species on the Ned Rig so far this year and saw a couple more caught sooo...
  25. 22 inch Ned rig walleye
