  1. How in the world do you keep the panfish off your bait long enough for a sucker to find it?
  2. I've got a Marlin 336C that I need to kill a few deer with this year IF I can ever leave the water.
  3. I'll be fishing 10/8/13. I'll be taking a coworker mainly looking for crappie, but I won't be able to leave without a little bass fishing.
  4. I'm so frustrated with BPS in Branson that I'm going to try to NEVER go there again. Going is worse than not going.
  5. I'm sure they were Drum. The water on the Current was perfectly clear. The ones I fished for spooked like Bonefish though.
  6. Ditto Old Plug, I've gotten in on that deal as well.
  7. I've fooled a few using trout worms, real worms, and small jigs but it wasn't anything consistent at all. I wish I could catch more of them.
  8. Earthworms or crawfish. I catch them on jigs, cranks, jerkbaits, and road runners in BSL. I saw a bunch of them on the Current and they ran like frightened school girls EVERYTIME I tried to throw a Bait anywhere near them. It was very disappointing.
  9. The NFOW Rainbows I've caught have been FAT and healthy fish with great color. You would likely catch a lot more fish on the White closer to Mounatin Home, but the quality of the fish on average is better on NFOW.
  10. Please let us know how you do. I'll second the suggestion to swing by Mountain River and talk to Steve or one of the other crew that is there. They'll have a real good feel for what's going on and I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction and have the gear you need to make it happen. The last couple of days they've been running mild water which is AWESOME for me, but it'll be Monday before I can go. IF water conditions are right monday, I'll catch over 100 trout. Easy.
  11. Cell reception gets better as the years roll along. I've got AT&T which is no great in the sticks and I have fairly decent recption in lots of areas. You should be OK especially if you have Verizon.
  12. I bought a couple of the W&M Rick Clunn cranking rods. I think they are nice rods for the price. I have the Square Bill models that are 7 foot long. Not too heavy. I still feel the bait and the bite. Nice boatside shock absorber. I've caught a few fish on them, but I of course hope to catch a bunch more on them. I'm sure that better rods are out there, but at todays price of $65 or so, I think you would be pleased. IF they have a model that meets your needs.
  13. It's so fun to figure out a pattern. Sounds like you were really dialed in. I love that.
  14. Wow, great read. Lots of information that you shared with us.
  15. I live in Mountain Home. I'm out a fair amount of time and gas money to get there. Tackle Warehouse and others ocassionally run 20% off sales, but like I said earlier. I'm stocked up fairly well on jerkbaits right now. I'd buy Megabass I didn't need at $15 a pop though.
  16. Heck of a deal OG. I'd love to stumble onto that. I have limited experience with the plus 1's, but I caught fish on them.
  17. I need to clean up some rods that have calcium deposits forming on my guids and the rod blank near the guides. Anyone have tips on removing this? Mild CLR mix? Vinegar? Other ideas?
  18. Too bad you're not local. I'd make that trade.
  19. On Toledo Bend, the White bass move up the Main river in the fall about November and December. A MASSIVE spawn occurs up the Sabine river starting in January and running thru March most years. I wish I knew more about how they behave in BSL prior to the spring fling, but I do not.

    Chiefs Victorius!

I'm not willing to bag on Bowe at this point. The Chiefs took DeSean Jackson away from Vick with special schemes and I'd bet the coaches are seeing that Philly took Bowe away from Smith. Still early in the first year of Smith in KC. Give him a little time to get to feel comfortable with his receivers. Didn't Jamaal Charles look legit last night though. I couldn't believe how many time he got around the corner on them. Pretty sweet.
  21. Eureka! We have a point of agreement. There is no one magic bait. Some days the fish react better to one than the other. That's why I carry several brands. I do think the Megabass is better than the others, but I don't rep for them or pimp them. MOST days a Spro McStick is all you need.

    Chiefs Victorius!

I'm happy they are 3-0, but they left a lot of points on the field.
  23. Well ab, I own both. I've fished both. I'm not sure why RC Stix guys feel the need to argue that their cheaper bait is the same as the Megabass. They ain't the same. I wish there was no difference between the two lures. I'm not gonna psychoanalyse what you're feeling butt hurt about (the move to the SEC) or your need to justify being cheap. I don't care. I did want to point out that there are differences. Yes, it costs a lot more for those minor differences, but that's how it goes. PLEASE keep buying all the RC Stix you can afford. I hope you catch fish by the boat load on them. I'm pretty well stocked up on jerkbaits right now. What I am a little short on is fishing time. When I'm on the water, I'm going to throw what I have the most confidence in at that moment. With jerkbaits, that's NEVER going to be RC Stix.

    Reports

Nope. Nary a trip on BSL. I've made 4 trips this month and caught 250 fish, but none from BSL.
  25. Lucky Strike has done a great job copying the Meagabass colors even using the same names, but the RC Stix are NOT the same bait. They look the same, but they don't fish the same. They don't throw the same. They don't run the same. Throw what you want. If the RC Stix catch fish for you, Great. I am a big fan of the McSticks. I also own a bunch of Pointer 78's and 100's. I like the Megabass 110's a lot, but they are fragile. I have bought RC Stixs. They did not catch fish for me when other jerkbaits were catching fish. Pretty much done fishing them. I've seen days when color mattered a lot. I've seen days when size mattered a lot. I've seen days where depth mattered a lot. I carry a lot of jerkbaits. I can't recomend just one or two.
