  1. agreed......I have never understood just gigging or shooting a rough fish with a bow and just throwing it away. The whole crap about suckers overpopulating the streams if you don't allow gigging is complete BS for trout guys.
  2. Okay I know some will laugh and some will say we were baked but, in 1998 while wading on the Bourbeuse river my buddy who was ahead of me claims he saw an alligator. He was so freaked out he just turned around and walked back to the truck along the bank all scared. His crazy reaction to whatever he saw was really kinda wild coming from the particular guy. He swears to this day it was an aliigator and WILL not wade on that river. The mind is a funny thing and we see things that we perceive wrong but, he saw something that day and WILL not go in that river anymore hahahahaha
  3. agreed 100% Skeeter......if you refuse to make your tourney a CPR Tourney then you in fact don't care about the fish's health and are only worried about your check and your pathetic glory. You can say your tourney does all it can for the fish but, you are kidding yourself and you are a problem. I have seen the floaters at Skeeter's ramp after a weigh in and I have seen the floaters at Blood River A Kentucky Lake.....I saw soo many fish caught at LOZ this last weekend that looked beat up as hell from obvious boat rides......it's a friggin joke really. My friend who fished the BBB last weekend said it best....."It's all about luck, you have to luck into one".....He's right....fishing PB2 for fish that have been already caught and sore mouthed and getting pummeled by a constant barrage of baits.....fighting the urge to not bite some artificial reactionary bait because it will end in a boat ride from hell to a new location and possible death......hahahahaha sorry I know a fish probably doesn't have the capability to comprehend that but, sorry my opinion is killing bass for a weak check and very pathetic glory is lame as hell.
  4. Saweeeeeeeet!!!!! Very Nice!!!!!! alligator???
  5. haha....actually that was my first thought. Ron and that dog were inseparable
  6. yep.....he was a quality guy if you ever met him. I gave him an old kayak I wasn't using and he would call me every couple of months and give me cool little updates about what he was doing in the kayak....it was really cool. I hope all is well with you Lee
  7. I know some on this forum may not have cared for Ron but, I know some of you did. He was a great outdoorsman and I had a lot of respect for the guy. He will be missed. He lived life his way, which I can totally respect. https://www.facebook.com/OutsideAlways/photos/pcb.1430404603722557/1430397910389893/?type=3
  8. almost as concerning as your comprehension of a satirical statement, unless of course you are joking
  9. I have.....it is what it is and I know that. I have succumb to the fact that this is as good as it gets as far as river fishing for bass is concerned to the MDC. It doesn't bother me anymore, it used to but, not anymore......it is what it is.
  10. Bass season should be closed for keeping them from January 1 to June 1......that would please me.
  11. agreed......and as you said nothing is going to happen when the entity that is in charge of regulating the sport is also enabling the criminals of the sport as well as introducing other factors into the equation that make it worse. After listening to some of MDC 's finest say a few things at the public forum meeting at Powder Valley I am convinced that some employees are completely ignorant or don't want to rock the boat in fear of jeopardizing their jobs. I don't waste brain power on it anymore......completely futile
  12. Hahahaha the fishes mouth was open so I was not trying to deceive on the size.....these Spotted bass fought like demons was the most relevant thing other than they seem to be taking the Smallies over. I also caught some baby Hybrids/whites
  13. Hahaha....no biggie....still fishing and fished an area near Pacific this morning in the fog...quality fish getting competitive over the Plopper90...I wish I would have had a stringer this morning, could have had a seriously nice mess of of Spots to fry up
  14. Absolutely awesome
  15. I guess so....it was the only bait I took Also I am not a part of Tackle HD anymore and have nothing to gain from expressing my opinions of their bait. Im not trying sell ~~....just trying to give some guys who frequent this site some help in catching fish on something other than a Ned Rig. I guess I should have been a little more neutral and PC and said Bait X instead of mentioning their bait.
  16. Mitch the Kiwi color absolutely rocks IMO and you know what I'm talking about on the craw bite....it is a very fun deal
  17. Heck yeah!!!!....my family I still have to reserve your place.....our schedules are friggin out of control right now
  18. I agree with Tim.....sure wish I could have made it to that event
  19. I took my self propelled vessel to a river to go fishing. I used artificial lures. I caught some fish. Fishing is fun.
  20. Those fish have to be some of the dumbest fish in North America but, they are brutes. Thank goodness there is hardly any fishing pressure to speak of up there.....it's kinda like fishing a creek down here that hasn't seen any action for awhile......a bunch a non educated fish. Man that makes for some great action though.
  21. I don't care where you fish that's a nice EYE Hog Wally doing what he does...he told me that thing was WIDE. Man I want to catch one of those someday....kudos my friend
  22. I remember the Funky chicken
  23. My first what I considered "big" Smallie was definitely not my biggest but, at the time it was my crowning stream achievement. I think it was 1986 and I had just quit bait fishing really. I used to just drive around and fish bridges and see what I could come up with. My go to bait then was 3 inch Mister Twister grub in Brown or White on a Ball jighead. I was a big olde gaper back then and trying to learn as fast as I could. Prior to the digital era I would take these disposable waterproof cameras from Walgreens out with me for pics. You had to take them back to get the film developed which was always a bit of a surprise to see how bad your photography skills were and whether or not the film had been compromised or not?? Which happened a few times and seemed to happen when I had some good pics of big fish on the reels. I had stumbled onto Marble Creek in one of my driving adventures and it was really fishing good back then. I had really only caught smallies up to 16 inches to that point but, was growing completely infatuated with them and stream fishing in general. My gaper arse was fishing with an Ugly Stick with a Cardinal reel and 6lb test line back then. I hooked up on a smallie that was a hair under 19 inches.....I was soo excited about that smallie and it ignited a fire in me for river and stream fishing that may never be extinguished. I have caught bigger smallies but, this was the one that has fueled my passion for river and stream fishing for sure. This pic isn't very good from this old reel of film
