No bass all cats today and all nice ones lol all of them aggressively ate a 5 inch LiveTarget Shad swimmer kinda weird but, fun nonetheless 🙂 There’s always tomorrow and I will be there.

55 but honestly they are some mysterious SOB ‘s I haven’t been able to get even a bite in a long time like they went extinct lol then all the sudden your rod just about gets taken from you and the adrenaline kicks in and your heart is thumping and yer back in the saddle again for another rodeo. They are NUTS The 22 to 25 inchers fight very effectively in the current the 26 and above try sit on the bottom of the river like an anchor, very wild stuff. I know these things are a genetic nightmare gone awry but, they are something else when hooked up. They don’t paralyze when you lip them which is dangerous as hell with the hooks I’m using and their power, they could literally dislocate your finger right off your hand much less impale you past the barb. I have really come to enjoy these freaks but, you have to be willing to get totally skunked sometimes which is fine with me, when I was younger my hurry hurry mentality kept me from chasing them. Now that I’m old and fat I can slow down enough and chart my historical data and make the right choices and produce enough to keep me very interested.

Well the water is still quite warm at 70 degrees. I caught 4 cookie cutter sized fish about 17 inches like Some would say lol I lost a HUGE one and called it a day and went back to pick up my daughter from Violin.

A 110 mm Smallie ate my 90 mm Plopper lol Actually top water was problematic with the leaves but, a weightless Fluke dropped thru the thickest and deepest wood I could find was the ticket for some quality bass. I think I’m ready for some higher water at this point.

I fished with a bamboo pole and a piece of line off the end for a few years when I was 4 or 5 lol

Yeah they are legal over here in Jerkwood and during Covid this was my second Yamaha purchase lol We have it turned up and I have a few after market parts and it will go 23 mph and that’s way too fast on that SOB, even insured to replacement cost

Or Huzzah valley and Bass or Ozark Outdoors will do all three of the floats we do. The main thing is we end at our vehicle as I will never get on a bus or something to get back to my vehicle never

I have a friend who sold Ozarkoutdoors just recently who drives us up.

We do the Huzzah to our truck on the Meramec or the Courtouis to the Meramec but, only do it on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday depending on the right flow and weather lol and you should do killer. This time we floated on the Meramec from 10 miles above Onondaga from a private ramp. I think Ozark Outdoors or Huzzah Valley can do the same floats but we use our own boats and ramps

Floated with wife very slow and easy. I really didn’t fish that hard but, ended up with 3 over 18 inches lol. We had a killer shore lunch and drank some of the best champagne we can find. We got home in time to make some homemade ice cream with my daughter who was patiently waiting.. Top water explosions could be had.

Fished this evening with my dear friend MOsmallies on here. We took a chance and went somewhere totally new and man it was awesome. My buddy Paul popped his cherry on nailing a Hybrid lol and did it in style with a 27 inch beast. We left them biting and will return to our new spot on the biggest river in our country I believe??? You rarely see these big rivers this low. Top water hybrids over 5 lbs is about as good as it gets in my book and now I’m pretty sure olde Paul is gonna be addicted to chasing these crazy bastards like me now 🙂

Dude that is exactly what I saw…..it looked to be about 30 inches and fought like crazy but, the stripes were exactly like that fish, closer together than the hybrids and darker
