  1. LOL.....Mitch we are friends and as you know looking for the same rod......the closest thing I can find that you and I want is made by Daiwa and it's called the Pixy and they are only made in Japan. I found a few on ebay for over $400 but, they look like what we are looking for.around here you will only find Pixy reels which are very nice for finesse casting....the rods are very hard to find and not cheap. product idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Mitch, you emailed this clip to me and now that I see it here...are those real or are those some new pours???

I'm not trying to call BS on anybody but, does anyone have a pic of their 22 inch river Smallmouth Bass???? I have been fishing for them for a long time and have only seen two in person that big and that was when I was a kid.....just would like to see one that big again

Holy crap!!!!! Nick is the MAN!!!!! that is a nice smallie and that just one of many that size he catches very frequently. 405z06, I agree with you, all of the bigger smallies "18 and over " have been from Byrnes Mill down to the Meramec.....thats where the big ones hide on the Big.
  5. Same fish Bruce......very cool, you and your son did a real number on some big bows that fall

Andy, I'm right there with you I have never been able to break the 21 inch mark......it's tough I really don't think there are all that many in Missouri streams 21 and bigger. I have caught some 20's and quite a few at 19 and under but, very few over 20. Here's one that was a hair over 20.5 from a Missouri stream but most are in the 19 inch range and those are way more common like this the 21 inch mark is tough to best
  8. nope but, they leave themselves a ton of room for criticism. They do okay
  9. I think I know of both creeks you speak of and yes it is heartbreaking and Andy you are also correct the first creek you are talking about was destroyed by a kid who is more of a hunter than a fisherman. Like you said he posted directions and showed tons of pics and bam.....now that creek is screwed. For anyone to imply that i feel the fishing sucks and that is a direct result of me not beeing able to catch them there is garbage......all of these marginal streams are extremely easy to catch fish out of......that's laughable. There are no secerets in Missouri and that is not what I was implying so go ahead and advertise.......I know what I have seen and what I have experienced over 25 years of wading and floating Missouri streams.....we all have opinions
  10. LOL....I don't care what the regs are I throw them all back, if I have a need to eat some fish I have some Crappie fillets and soon to have some Walleye fillets. To be quite honest I think it's funny someone would give me dung about my stance on wanting more regs to improve the fishing. I have fished Beaver, Bull, Swan, Cowskin, Little Beav, and any ditch east over to Bryant since the 80's and they are all killer little creeks that are very easy to catch nice Smallies out of, I wouldn't advertise. If I only lived closer than St.Louis I would hit them way more often, too much for a day trip for me. On Beaver once I came across two loosers in April of 2001 who were floating in a Jon boat who had two stringers of mostly Smallies and few Largemouth, each stringer had anywhere from 10 to 15 bass on each. When I made conversation and told them not only were they keeping Black Bass out of season, they had way too many if they were in season, they proceeded to say if you aint the cops in really doesn't matter and then argued with about when you can keep a bass on a stream in Missouri. So some of us know that these marginal ozarks creeks are there and we are deffinitely fishing them we just don't post it.....no offense just trying our best to preserve what little killer creeks we have left in this state.
  11. lol.......too late
  12. just another in a long string of whack job libs to go on a killing spree.....just another news story
  13. I'll see you out there Wally as I caught a few Hybrids last year and it wet my whistle so to speak.......I have some really nice areas for Hybrids from The Kirkwood ramp down to Flamm city ramp and I will be persuing
  14. Wow!!!! nice Brown trout...... good for you.....you have really put that jet to good use, great job.
  15. I don't know where you come off basicly stating something as a fact when it's horseshit.......not every member received a survey. I'm a memeber and live south of HWY 44 and received or was allowed to give input. That survey is garbage....why would you ever think a random survey of alleged Smallmouth and Goggle Eye fisherman is going to be accurate??? oh I forgot your just trying to get a rise out of anyone from the MSA.....duh
  16. thanks for the responses......coldwaterfisher was first and I'm happy someone will use these
  17. first person to pm me that can attend a blues game 02/11 vs the kings will get two tickets
  18. I must admit it only seems to be Fly guys who make these videos or at least who post them here. I think most are really cool but, a bit self serving and I can see Joe's point. I mean if OAF or Youtube were not around I assume they would just be home videos for friends and family when they come over???? which is very cool.....I'm just trying to figure out the motive of revealing them to expansive world wide web??? product promotion or endorsement???? self promotion??? I was intructed to quit posting pics and vids so I have abliged by that and only throw out bs comments from the gallery now so who am I to question anyones motives on anything.....so that beeing said let's see some vids, with more fish porn
  19. A MUST for my survival kit:::::: 1) A healthy half ounce of some of the finest hydroponicly grown skunk weed I can find, 1 to calm my nerves and 2 the smell will alert anyone close by. 2) As my friend Paul Dallas suggested an REI tin bottle of some very intense moonshine....oh yeah 3) the latest edition of club magazine and an old wool sock 4) the biggest bag of cheetos they make......I think it is a 24oz bag......mmmmm, and also a great item for making a trail 5) a Ronco pocket fisherman 6) a gray plastic bag from Walmart to harness the amazing survival kit
  20. The Bourb has gone down hill bigtime in the last 10 years, due to many factors, the biggest beeing the attitude of the people who use it and live on it. You are very lucky to have property around Tea, that river pales in comparison to what it once was so good luck.....Gavin's advice is about all you should need....go out on a limb and explore a little on your own....it's more gratifying in the end.
  21. Nice Buck.......I shot one like that with a bow in my back yard here in Kirkwood in 2011 and could probally get one like it every night if I tried.
  22. Al I couldn't agree more with your idea but, not sure the MDC would ever try to inact something like that in a timely fashion or even in our lifetimes......that is unless it is regulations pertaining to Strippers in North Fork.....they(MDC) can make regulations for those fish in a matter of months???? I guess the native fish silhouette that is on the emblem for the MDC just doesn't mean that much to the MDC???They (MDC) leave a lot of room for peole to question their motives and that is a bummer.
  23. Greasy, you are correct it all depends on what neighborhood, because Jack's reality of guns is BS in mine.
  24. Bravo Wayne!!!!! couldn't agree more
