  1. That looks like quite the experience but the fist thing I thought of, when seeing the first picture, was ALLIGATORS.
  2. Todd Stiles (Route 66) Captain Picard (Star Trek Next Generation) Walter Bishop (Fringe) Briscoe County Jr. (Briscoe County Jr.) Lilith (Cheers)
  3. Hopefully it is just a spasm. For me a spasm feels just like a serious back injury but goes away in days. I used to lift in powerlifting tournaments (I wasn't any good) and had surgery in '96. I was fine up until a few years ago. It failed where it was operated on. I had three days of pain and then numbness down the leg. I will take the numbness and slight weakness over the pain. I do limit what I will pick up to my own bodyweight.
  4. Jerry, I think some of these high-falootin Table Rock and LOZ dudes are making fun of Clearwater.
  5. Goulash....I forgot this was about the goulash.
  6. Ya know, I get on Netflix and spend a half hour trying to pick out a movie. You guys are going to make this a lot easier.
  7. Field Of Dreams Once Upon A Time In The West... Doctor Strangelove From Hell To Eternity Paint Your Wagon And to separate the comedies we have the holy trinity: Caddyshack Blazing Saddles Animal House
  8. Except for that scene where all of the LST's are lined up on the beach. I was looking for 241 (the ship my father served on). It was not there. I recorded and resarched all of the numbers and none of them ever served in the Pacific Theatre. In fact one of them never even made it to Europe -- it was sunk on the way. It was all CGI.
  9. I found a bottle of Penzy's Ozark Seasoning in Candy's spice rack. I have been using it on the steaks from that old deer and cooking fast in a hot iron skillet in a bit of lard. I recommend it.
  10. Wieners (hot dogs, franks....) are another example of "you get what you pay for." Good wieners from a butcher shop are excellent.
  11. I just looked at the site: http://www.stealth1charging.com/Conclusion.html They do, in fact, claim the outboard can charge the trolling motor battery with this device. Maybe they can adjust the resistance to keep the load at what the outboard charging system is designed for, but it is a risk. Part of the risk is sending too much current to the trolling motor battery making the cranking battery insufficiently charged to turn over the outboard. I agree with Wrench: the outboard charging is designed to charge only the cranking motor battery.
  12. Food for ticks and mosquitoes.
  13. Ness, I did look that guy up. He knows how to do a lot with a little. You know he actually puts a steak right on the coals. What I need to do is rip out the components of this smoker and dig a hole in the hill behind my house for a walk-in smoker. If I triple the size the heat won't get away from me and I can smoke all the sausage at one time.
  14. SmallieGuy, No grindin' no eatin'. I ground 50 lbs of venison and 18 lbs of pork by hand in three days.
  15. Ness, A guy that lives in this area, Fred Marquardt, taught me how to do this. Seasonings are black pepper, salt, garlic and red pepper. I mix in half pork. It is a hot smoke, too hot actually. It is a gas smoker and in order to keep the hickory chips burning the burner has to run too often. I really need to develop a better system at keeping the temperature down and the smoke up. Some of the links got too dry. I did use a cure. I get the pork, casings and cure from G & W meat in St. Louis. I believe it is safe at room temperature like landjaegger is. But it is 45 degrees in my basement. When I was single I used my oven for this. I filled the bottom of the oven with hickory chips. That system was perfect at keeping a constant temperature with the thermostat. The house smelled like a smokehouse for about six months but I thought that was a good thing.
  16. I got my venison sausage made last weekend. I am happy with the results. Step One: Grinding the meat Step Two: Stuffing the sheep casings Step Three: Smoking Step Four: Drying
  17. I would like to read some "pro" comments on this. I want to know WHY this bill is thought necessary and WHO thinks it necessary.
  18. Each of these characters has anywhere between zero and eight years on the job. What if we made it law that doctors, lawyers and airplane pilots had to change careers after eight years?
  19. I prefer to listen to pre-season games. I listen while I am still splitting wood and shoveling snow and it gives me comfort knowing that somewhere baseball is being played. If I were to watch and see people in shirt sleeves outside it would make me melancholy.
  20. The best dollar I will spend all year.
  21. I always thought you had to have seeds to exchange to get seeds but apparently that is not true. I will look into this.
  22. Wow....no kidding. I, now, wish I didn't add my entry. Nobody can compete with that!
  23. This has to be my biggest fish. It was caught on Basswood Lake in the boundary waters. We got there by sled dogs and that is a very amazing experience by itself.
  24. I thought that was Marble Creek. Great pictures.
