  1. If it does happen to you, remember, we all love pictures on this forum.
  2. Not if two are wearing bikini's.
  3. No, no, no! A "hoosier" is an urban redneck. Typically from South St. Louis.
  4. The Pit Bull issue is a complicated issue. I have known some Pit Bulls who were as gentle as any other dog. But that reputation, the statistics and the mechanical advantage of their body is a lot to consider.
  5. That was you, Ness. That brought the whole Internet down! I had to listen to the wife complain and the bourbon had not yet kicked in. Don't do that again!
  6. I agree. McDonald is from my neck of the woods but that voice is hard to listen to.
  7. After reading how so many of you love the Sammy I bought one. The first day I used it at Sunfish Lake it landed in a tree. I couldn't stand it -- a fifteen dollar bill just sitting in that tree. The next weekend I walked around the lake with my twenty foot extension ladder and a hand saw. Now this story is a lot longer than this but basically I was able to saw a portion of the limb that it was on. It fell into the water and it SANK. What kind of wood sinks? I stood there for ten minutes staring at the place in the lake where it sank. So I bought another one. I was fishing the St. Francis last week while turkey hunting. I had good success there two years ago during that hot dry summer with a Zara Spook so I tie on my new Sammy and was having a helluva time walking the dog until the line broke in the middle after a cast. I chased after the line but just missed it and I had waders on so could not go swimming after it. I just watched another fifteen dollar bill go floating down the river. And then it occurred to me that the manufacturer of this thing is called LUCKY- craft. That is just about more than I can stand -- Zara Spooks for me from here on.
  8. That IS a great day, congratulations.
  9. The difference between four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive confused me also until I read the Car Talk guys column a few weeks ago: http://www.cartalk.com/content/all-wheel-versus-four-wheel-drive
  10. One other thing on this: everyone who has owned a boat spent more time on maintenance than they expected. That could become an issue if only one does his share. What are the possibilities of renting a boat on this lake?
  11. No it is has just been long winter. And nobody told me Hank Patterson made some video's over the winter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG8naTB6xRM
  12. Well I am going this Saturday with my cedar-stripper. The wood shed is full of wood, the garden is started, the leaves are all picked up and both vehicles are running (just barely, though) and I am going fishing. This will be my second time out. The first was at January-Wabash to take some of those trout they put but I must have been a bit late. Here is my itineray: 9-12 White roadrunner on ultra-lite. Shaky head and motor-oil worm on the Conolon Suspending crank bait on bait-caster 12-1 Poppers on the fly-rod from the bank 1-4 A bait to be nammed later on ultra-lite Tandem spinner bait on bait-caster Wiggle Wart knockoff on the Conolon And the list of what to pack is: Siz pack of Anchor Steam, bratwurts from the WurstHaus in Hermann, grill, chair, cigar, bottle opener and lighter.
  13. I started two types of tomatoes inside under a light. None of them germinated. I used store-bought seed starter. Yesterday I scooped out some garden soil and will give it another try. I planted carrots and beets in my cold frame, yesterday.
  14. Hey Wrench, how much actual thrust do you lose with a jet?
  15. Hang in there Mitch, there is no way to prepare for losing your mother.
  16. I am not surprised the Cardinals wanted to sign him -- the price is affordable. I AM surprised he signed here because there is little likelihood he will find a place to play.
  17. JD I like it. But you know it just ain't as easy as that.
  18. Now that is funny.
  19. I like to go out the weekend before, set up camp, do a little scouting and fishing. I spent one Easter in Japan and another in New York with my old job so the family can do without me for another, I guess.
  20. I was in the process of applying for vacation for Turkey Season (I was in the middle of a project, last year, and had to skip it) and found out it starts on Easter Monday. Man that puts a crimp in the situation. I have been hunting since '86 and don't recall this ever occurring.
  21. Apparently, I am not good at either one.
  22. I would say it is bad news. I would guess that fish up north are somehow different or have different strategies.
  23. My experience has taught me that weedless design is more important when fishing from a bank. You can't just move the boat or canoe over to where the bait is snagged and get it loose.
  24. The first thing I thought about was mosquitoes. It was the second and third things I thought about, also. My wife and I went ice-fishing by sled dog a few years ago in March. No mosquitoes.
