  1. You know with the Internet anything anybody does is immediately known to seven billion people. It is likely this same exact prank played itself out in dozens of other high schools and went unpunished and unknown. But the overeaction of the administration of this school makes this instance an Internet sensation.
  2. We did get to Wappappello the Sunday before Turkey Season. We caught a lot of crappie between 8-3/4" and 9-1/4" and spent most of the time measuring fish. The lake was low and dangerous.
  3. I have fished Mark Twain quite often and I typically get up there for a few days in September.
  4. Has anybody been out on Wappappello lately? If so, what is the water like and did you have any success on crappie?
  5. Nice fish Mic. I was there, Saturday. We fished the last lake. We were expecting some fish like yours. There was no action with the bass but we started catching 10”-12” inch crappie. The boat in the picture is a 1979 Chrysler Fin and Fun that I just bought a few weeks, ago. It was just driven to the marina on Sundays by a little old lady. Oh, and by the way, we saw the signs that said "No Alcohol" so I told my buddy Bob we have to drink all of our beer, quick!
  6. I am sure most of you are familiar with the outdoor writings of Patrick McManus but he has started a mystery series called the Sheriff Bo Tully Mysteries. I have read just finished Avalanche, the second in the series, and do recommend it.
  7. Candy and I camped at Marble Creek last May during the week. It was a hoot catching fish right from the campsite.
  8. I waved at you Gavin as I drove down I-55 with the canoe in the pickup. I paddled upstream on the St. Francis from Coldwater Access and fished a jig and a wigglewart on the way down. The next day I tried to wade the Castor by Marquand but the water was too high. The water was too cold for the fish to get excited about anything but it was the cure for cabin fever.
  9. Thanks for the link SIUSaluki, I just bought one.
  10. I am wondering why those who are telling us we can't use contraceptives are not reminding us of the sixth commandment.
  11. That looks interesting. I would like to hear from some who use it. On another note, from the Urban Dictionary: 1. fishidy 5 up, 2 down Far exceeding the current standard of a job well done. Wow bro. Look at the fishidy of that low rider. Are dose 15 inch Daytons you skating on?
  12. There's gotta be a reason why all of the lions in Wyoming kicked them out of the state.
  13. I was always told you need to get some of that dark river mud and cook the carp in that. Cook it for 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. When it is done flake off the dried mud from the carp. Throw the carp away and eat the mud.
  14. You need a High-Definition radio. An HD radio gives us two things: A digital signal and access to more stations. Almost all FM stations have additional stations. KSHE-Two is programmed by Radio Rich and has no commercials.
  15. I hope you are not really offended, Liv2flyfish. If it were I in your waders I would take comfort in the fact that I gave a few easily amused but bored individuals something to do in January.
  16. Jackie Blue, actually, is on the second album: “It Will Shine When It Shines.” But Beauty On The River is on the first album – that could be our theme song around here. I have the first five albums and the 1997 reunion CD “13” and listened to all of them the last two nights (it is January, you know). It is difficult to recommend one album. The same formula was used for all of them. You can't go wrong with any of them. I listen to KSHE-Two quite often. KSHE-Two is a station programmed by Radio Rich Dalton (a dude from the neighborhood up here.) He popped in on the station the other day and said that the fact that White Rabbit was the first song played on KSHE in ’67 is in dispute he said that he knows for a fact that the first song played on KSHE-Two was the OMD’s Standing On The Rock. This is all I have to offer this forum because I can’t catch fish worth a “frick.”
  17. As with most bands the first album is usually the best, so, my first recommendation is the 1973 self-titled "Ozark Mountain Daredevils." I have been waiting for a reason to listen to some of their albums. So I now have a project and will report back.
  18. Candy bought me a GoPro Hero for Christmas. My initial reaction was "What will I use that for". But I decided a few video's of outdoor adventures would be good thing when I am 90 years old and dribbling oatmeal down my chin.
  19. I see Halladay's name is in the headline but Carpenter is in the fine print.
  20. One factor not mentioned, here, is the age of the occupant. Reflexes deteriorate over the years and a canoe with poor stability is a bit more of an inconvenience. I personally have not experienced any of this; it is what I hear from my friends.
  21. There is a lot of insightful discussion in this post. It makes me proud you all let me hang around, here.
  22. I am curious how everyone thinks, here. Do we blame Albert for giving into his pride/greed? Or do we blame the ballclub for not paying him what he is worth?
  23. I am impressed by the level of detail.
  24. Cricket-Dude, I am curious. What would actually happen if you said: "Betty-Jane, I am going fishing for a few hours"?
