  1. Thanks. I really do look forward to going again in the next few weeks.
  2. I really did enjoy my day at capps. On my next visit, I will head downstream of the upper bridge first thing. Maybe I can go all the way to the other bridge and have my wife pick me up. Looks like that would be about one mile, and probably a lot of "walk-by" water. I am not much of a "strike indicator" fisherman, so I prefer some current. Is there any schedule to the stocking of the creek? I will have some opportunity in the next couple of weeks.
  3. Well? How'd it go?
  4. Headed up that way in 2015. Can't wait! thanks for posting
  5. MY first trip to Capps was, well, so so. Did alot of looking around. Saw some nice water. Started up near the mill and fished down to the bridge. It was VERY windy and off and on rain, just a beautiful day. Casting was atrocious and visibility was limited. Nothing caught between the dam and bridge. Drove down to the "lower" bridge. Went downstream to the first riffle and caught nothing. Went upstream a couple of hundred of yards. Some nice water in that area, however nothing. I enjoy going to a new place to fish and try to figure it out. Conditions being as they were, and it being my first trip, I was somewhat dissapointed in the fishing. I will go back in a few weeks and give it another try. Hope the guys fishing in the "olliefest" have a great time and catch a few fish. I would think with the rain we had in the area, the water will be up some. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.
  6. Headed out to Capps tomorrow for the first time. I am assuming the usual nymphs and wooly buggers will do OK. Looked at the area on Google Earth, and it looks like I will start at the bridge and work my way down.
  7. Is there any place to fish on this property?
  8. Maybe you should try Rockband....
  9. Propaganda and filled with agenda...
  10. He is what he is...Bowe is a #2 or #3 receiver. Not that much of a Cassel fan either, but if he had a receiver who would catch balls consisently, I am sure his confidence would go way up. Hard to throw with confidence when it's 50/50 if it will be caught if thrown on the money. GO CHIEFS! Ok for a prediction...hate to go this way but I see problems....Denver 30 KC 17. Hope I'm wrong. Chiefs margin for error is so small, just a few mistkes makes them very vulnerable....like the last 2 games...overtime win against a HORRIBLE buffalo team, and the loss at Oakland. Just a few mistakes, turnover or penalty, and they are in trouble. Need a passing game to overcome this....A few years my friends, a few years.
  11. I would never put my name on the inside of my flybox. I would be so embarassed for anyone to see what lousy flies i make and use. Good luck on finding yours...
  12. Sometimes when my flies arent "up to par", I just put a match to them and burn off the material and reuse the hooks. Do this outside the house, as it does smell of a burnt duck.
  13. My latest McPhail Bug....McFailed!!1!
  14. I have been watching Davie Mcphail videos on Youtube. This man is a true artist when it comes to fly tying. His attention to detail makes his flies something special to behold. The techniques he uses are simple, yet complex. He explains the process in great detail, making his videos both educational and entertaining. For you who have not seen his videos, I strongly suggest viewing him. I am sure hour tying skills will improve. And best of all, its free.
  15. Short answer is BOTH. Fish fast, and if no results sloooooooooooooooooooow down. Be versatile.
  16. Do they do any extra stocking for the C & R? Such as some larger fish?
  17. I think I will just stay inside my house. It's safer...
  18. I have sometimes wondered about the longevity of our dams. Look at out roads. They detoriate over time. Concrete and steel are NOT forever. Can you really see Table Rock Dam there 100 years from now. 200? 300? Plus earthquakes? Doubt it happens in our lifetime, or even our children or grandchildrens, but it will happen.
  19. Bought some Sally Hanson. Asked a young lady if she knew where it was and she took me right to it, though reluctantly...
  20. Can trout smell a fly? Can I use varnish not intended for fly tying? Bass Pro is 45 minutes away, and I don't want to go to town tonight. Any advice on this?
  21. Arrived at 64 access about 1pm. Finaly caught one just below the bridge. 1 fish, 3 hours. HOWEVER, I did have the whole river to myself. A little ccol, but a very enjoyable afternoon.
  22. Headed there right now...will report later...
  23. I see Fish "Unit" on a hat...sounds fishy to me...and uh...personal...
  24. MFU? Missouri Flyfisherman United? Mostly F***** Up?
